  1. yah, that sort of works. though it would actually be easier just having two windows open and ctrl+pgup-ing or ctrl+pgdn-ing. There are workarounds, sure... and its not a MUST-HAVE kind of feature... just saying it would be nice.
  2. either an MDI document interface, or some other way to see two images side by side. Here is my sit... i am trying to convert an XP msstyle to a Vista msstyle. Take for instance the Checkbox image. It would be really nice to be able to see the old XP image next to the new Vista image being crafted, to make sure that it's looking good. CheerZ! Keep up the great work!
  3. no it doesn't. places like Program files, and all those kinds of places would still be protected by UAC (unless it's turned off, or on XP, in which case it's moot anyway). That mentality is really a case of PEBCAK, not the programs. This is why i would go for letting the user specify where to look for the plugins... not just auto-dumping them in Documents. I ALWAYS separate my Windows/Programs installation onto a C: partition, and put as much as possible of all my data, documents, program settings and such all on a separate partition, all nicely, neatly organized how i want them, including repointing all the shell folders (Documents, Pictures, Music, etc.) to my own folders. This way when i transfer to a new machine, i just copy my one partition, and I'm done. So i would LOVE for the ability to specify where they are, so i can keep them organized according to my personal filing system.
  4. The Fox is smart. 8) the idea of being able to install plugins "for yourself"... does this mean you can change the folder where they'll be installed? I'd LOVE to install them under my "Documents" folder, instead of c:\program files\... so that its one less thing i need to remember to backup when rebuilding or transferring to a new machine;
  5. One thing i think would be very cool for PDN, would be an "updates" service, like Firefox has... Someplace (some kind of online application) where authors can publish their plugins/filetypes/effects/etc., along with a readme, or link to the relevant forum post about the current version (what's new/changed)... so then when PDN starts up, it can check for updates to whatever plugins you have, and alert you to whats new and updated, and allow you to choose which ones you wish to install. Again... just thinking of the way Firefox works as a good example.
  6. Yah... i guess i could see that being a little problem in a really complex document. So, yeah... i guess if the shading were hidden while "effecting", and like you said, just dim the ants out some so they dont interfere quite as much with trying to "see the whole picture".
  7. i still think it would be nice to hide those while the effects dialog is open. Once the effect dialog is closed, they would come back as normal. Cuz it is a bit cumbersome to select what i want to affect, then first switch to a different tool first, before doing my Effects choice.
  8. I would imagine this is a major thing, for 4.0... but maybe not, i dont really know. It would be great though... say i select some area on the canvas, then i go to Effects > Some Effect. Up pops a dialog, to let me set whatever options for the effect, with live-preview (this is GREAT by the way, kudos! )... only problem is, i cant really see how it looks, because of the running ants around the selection, and the "shading" of the selection area. It would be nice if while in the effects options dialog, it hid the ants and the shading so you could actually really see the live preview as it will look when finished. Cheers, keep up the AWEsome work!
  9. Cool. Glad to hear. I saw also on the roadmap for 4.0 that there is going to be a LOT of layers work done. Is some of this layer work to keep text layers as editable text?
  10. I am a long time photoshop user, who's switched to p.net for various reasons... Overall, i'm very happy with it! There is one thing i dont see though, and am wondering if it is in the works. (or maybe this could be a plugin? dont know how your plugin framework works). The thing is the concept of layer "sets" (which came i think in photoshop 6)... where you can create 'folders' in the layers dialog to contain various layers, and then do things like moving or hiding all those layers by simply acting on the layer set. Keep up the great work!! Awesome job. 8)
