  1. I find it quite annoying too that when i have a selection pasted into a layer, the selection doesn't exist as a floating selection because when i switch tools to the magnifier for instance, the selection has been pasted while I did not instruct Paint.net to do this. So I can only move the selection without screwing up the background by not switching tools.
  2. Ok 1 more question. If I split my image in half and open them in paint.net, why can i open them both and even paste one as a layer over the other yet i cannot open the original single image? In fact, I can open several images, not just 2, in paint.net that are half the original image size. :?
  3. Allow me to be critical here and ask why the image needs to be 32bit? All I need is 8 bits and shouldn't that solve the memory problem paint.net apparently has?
  4. Hi. I have a problem with memory as well. I want to open up a windows bitmap of dimensions: 9952*6704 and 63.6MB in file size. Paint.net refuses to open it because there is supposedly not enough memory. This is rubbish because I have 2GB RAM and plenty of hard disk space. Furthermore, why do you think The GIMP will let me open it? So i was wondering, is Paint.net really using all my available RAM and if not, where can I edit its configuration settings so it will? Or is this simply a limitation of a .net application? Thanks. PS And no, I dont have photoshop and I dont have the money to buy it.
