I've looked all around and I can't find any way to change the default 24-bit color images (*.bmp) to 8-bit. The reason for doing this is because I'm trying to generate sample images for a program that does pattern matching and it only accepts 8-bit color images. Is it possible with Paint.NET and I just didn't see it. Thanks, BubbaGee

I'm trying to find a way to change the bits/pixel of an image. I believe I have looked in all the menus for a way to do it but no luck so far. I need to change an image from 24 bits/pixel to 8 bits/pixel so it can be used with a software package that does some image comparisons. Thanks, George
