  1. Check out the first page as I show off a limited edition exhibit! From the Vault: Mike Ryan
  2. You are running the 10.5 Developer Preview build and it doesn't crash on you?! Lucky... The first animated signature was around 47 frames and the one above, if I recall correctly, was around 25-30 frames.
  3. I expect the GIF to be pretty hefty in size as well, after all it is about 47(!) frames. I'll just considerit my second proof of concept APNG signature, the first of which I am now noticing is not up in my gallery. Let me see if ol' Photobucket has it... Ah! I found it. I also found a lot more unposted artwork. Maybe I should unearth a bit of it over the course of this Christmas break Also, yes I love Opera. If you are just using it to toy around with and don't mind it crashing every once in a while, you should check out the new developer's preview of Opera 10.50. I am a huge Opera fanboy and will defend it against all odds (Just ask CMD).
  4. Yes, I am a big fan of that size. Sometimes I'll creep down to 500x90 but it is a very rare occasion. It allows for easy cropping on the avatar, which I rarely put any real effort into. Edit: Wait, Chrome loads that animation and everything?
  5. Here is my (impractically) large 2010 New Year's Signature. So large that I will (most likely) be unable to wear it on that day. Enjoy! Also, a word of note: You'll need Opera to load the image (for now).
  6. On Windows 7 x64 with latest version of Paint.NET and the Java framework and the latest version of the linked Command Line utility this plugin no longer works for saving animated PNG images. When attempting to save, it cannot compute the file size and Paint.NET reports that there was an error whilst saving the image. The created .APNG is 0 bytes in size.
  7. Hey Boltbait, would it be possible for you to add functionality to disable the constant 'running of the effect' while writing the code? It freezes up Paint.NET for about one or two seconds and when you are mid-line of code it can become quite the nuisance. Thanks, and a Merry Christmas! - Mike
  8. Oma, I just wanted to say thank you for this fantastic tutorial. I don't have a snowman to prove I went through your tutorial, but your method on creating a snow texture will be very handy indeed! I can't wait to apply it as a frosting on some icy, 3-D text! Thanks again for the hardwork it took to bring this together. Merry Christmas, - Mike
  9. Starting to work on the bow. I was going to attempt to add the same mRyan gloss effect to it, but I fear the shadows and blending will make it way too complicated with what little time I have left In the mean time, I noticed this guy sitting in my photobucket account. Probably a few days old and is another reminder I need to get off of this style. However, I was happy that I didn't use cool, dark colors like my favorite shades of blues and dark greens. This one actually attempted vibrant colors.
  10. Thanks for the comments, BarbieQ, Sharp, and Nabster! I am dumping yet another signature in here. I need to get my mind off of this type of sig! This one was going to be a Christmas day only one. I am going to start over on it though. I want to incorporate a bow of some kind
  11. I have a new avatar and signature, so now these two old people deserve to sit here and rest a while
  12. I mimic'd the pressure sensitivity look, then used a controlled selection of Add Noise and Motion blur followed by a 1px erase to give it the torn feel. All Paint.NET. The only part I can't and won't take credit for is the leaf at the tip of the 'Y'. That is actually CMD's creation from a while back. I wanted it too feel kind of Japanese in terms of the fake brush stroke and tried to keep it sleek at the same time. I like it, and I still have some corrections to make. Glad you like it
  13. Thanks for the compliments! Also, if anybody notices any left over pixels on the most recently added logo, let me know. I have been having a hard time trying to clean it up as much as possible. Also, I'll be posting a new wallpaper in a few.
  14. Fixed. Also, I'll update this with Text on Layer most likely. I have one or two others sitting around.
  15. There has to be a hardware problem with this, methinks. If those who are posting don't mind, please post the following information: OS Version: .NET version: Processor: Physical memory: UI DPI: Laptop / Dekstop: Manufacturer: Model: I am asking because I have had this same problem since early alpha releases and eventually considered it a problem with my hardware.
  16. Download Squad posted about v3.5 Beta 1 today. Awesome! http://www.downloadsquad.com/2009/09/22/paint-net-3-5-beta-1-released-now-with-added-shiny/ This is surely going to bring in some attention
  17. I know Curtis hasn't been around in a while, but just so it is known Equations is broken on v3.5 alpha / beta builds of Paint.NET. Makes doing Trig homework a bit difficult

  21. SOTW is taking a bit of a break, followed by new management. Hold in there.
  22. I've been working on this signature for some time, and never liked the outcome. So I gave up and posted it here. Maybe next time
