They're massively different, both in their structure, production, and other factors like that. If I were to list it in more detail, I'd be here for a while D: There's a free trial of Photoshop available for 30 days in which you can use it along with Paint.NET to get a comparison of the two programs for yourself.

I thought Rick already locked a thread like this, so why are you creating another one? -

stationary clone tool sample
Andrew D replied to dumptruck's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
Well, bloody potato still seems like an offensive word, it's effectively a offensive substitute for another offensive word I don't have a problem with it myself, but I thought for a family-friendly forum it'd be blocked. -

You'll find quite a few of them here on this forum -
When is the 4.0 version going to appear?
Andrew D replied to iPodLover's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't realize I had kept you waiting. I'll start working on that right away! Oh no Rick, he doesn't just want you to work on it, he wants it to become a photoshop clone in the process. To be honest Rick, I'm surprised you can bear to continue on making this with some of the stuff people come out on this forum. -
viewtopic.php?f=10&t=29291&p=253700&hilit=+installer#p253700 The following posts in the thread above should get all you're problems sorted.

You'll have to post the contents of the pdncrash text file placed on your desktop when PDN crashes so we can help you.
-
Not really, because the actual answer would be, "It can't be done - yet", and I think that Rick's best interests would be either in saying that he will include a feature, or that he won't (although a few times he has stated he *might* do a feature).
-
Have you got the full crash log?

I think we finally have our solution for the staging file errors

Paint.NET is getting noticed!

http://www.fpsbanana.com/tuts/8103 Just saw this tutorial on FPSBanana for transparent sprays, uses Paint.NET in it. -
I did a virus scan but it didn't find a virus. What should I do next? Download some more virus scanners. Get AVG free, Avast! (also free), and there are also some more, but I can't remember them of the top of my head.

Thank you for the reply Rick. I installed/updated the the net.framework thingy and tried again but still getting the same error message. As you can probably tell from my above explanation i'm not great with computers or the lingo! Am i missing something? Sorry to be a pain :? To be honest, this error is a huge pain, and while I've had it twice and managed to fix it both times, I managed to fix it both times using a different way, both of which took me an hour Also, Rick has never, ever, been able to reproduce this bug before, so there isn't much Rick can do either.

Help required for creating Collage Magazine
Andrew D replied to maxsteel's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
This isn't a request forum; we won't do any part of the magazine for you. However, that isn't to say we can't get you inspiration or guidance on how to create such a thing. -
decrease file size possable?
Andrew D replied to redwes's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
If it's a .PNG, you could also use an optimiser like PNGauntlet, but as the size is so small anyways, it won't matter that much. Just save it is as .jpg, the quality loss is hardly noticeable if at 95-100%
