  1. I feel like such a dork, especially since it was right in front of me the whole time. ._.
  2. It's me again, and I'm trying to animate yet another effect. What I need is simple; I want to make an object bigger. I have been unsuccessful in doing so (I can't use resize because the object is on another LAYER, rather than another picture). I tried using blurs and making them completely opaque, but the object becomes rounded rather than square (which is what I want, because the object I'm trying to resize is a square). Is there any way to resize a selection on a layer? If not, I feel a "Zoom in" plugin would work... or something.
  3. To me, it looks like radial blur + dents + glow (those little aura things were probably drawn onto another layer). Edit: Possibly some use of curves... for luminosity. I'm trying to figure it out myself, really. o.o Edit again: You'd probably have to separate the character being emphasized, and put him/her on a new layer. Copy it onto a new image (two or three times the height of the original (also, make sure it's on the bottom of the image), and apply a radial blur. Then, add dents (Scale: 180; Amount: 13; Quality: Whatever you choose). Copy the original size, and paste it into a new layer of your original image. Now, add luminosity with the curves plugin (the area around the character should be cut off, by the way), lesser for the "aura", more for the actual character. The character should be on top, followed by the aura, and then the background. Select the character, add a gaussian blur of about 14 or so. I think that should do the trick. I tested it out, but I can't select it neat enough to get good enough results. Edit x 3: I'll try using this as my first tut, I guess.
  4. You completely solved my problem, Madjik! Awesome plugin.
  5. BUMP I'm sorry I'm being annoying, but I have a deadline! I can't figure out the whole seed thing, and I really need help! HELP!
  6. Well, you could use the cloud plugin... http://paintdotnet.12.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=2105 It's different from the cloud effect build into Paint.Net, because it creates actual clouds.
  7. Okay, I'll try, but my effect doesn't have a seed value. What should I do about that? The only values I can toggle is the X effect, Y effect, and the radius.
  8. Oh wait, how do I use a random seed? Also..., what is a random seed? x_x
  9. My first created using one of the tutorials: I might be doing this more often... =)
  10. I tried it, and it doesn't work properly, and now it seems nothing is going to work. I'll keep trying and messing around, but I'm not sure I can get what I'm looking for. Thanks for the help (everyone), though.
  11. I already tried that one, and I was specifically pointing out that, that isn't the effect I want.
  12. Okay, I need something like this: (Simple Xor I know) Except able to duplicate the effect, and create a smooth animation. When I try duplicating the effect (either applying the same effect again, or just setting the waves further), it won't become smooth.
  13. Sadly, it didn't work. I tried another plugin (Waves) and it still didn't work well enough (close, but I couldn't create a smooth animation from it).
  14. I can't actually download the plugin, though. The link is probably expired.
  15. Thanks, Ash. I'll give it a try. Edit: The link isn't valid.
  16. Well, no. I will actually animate it a different way (long story, I just need to make individual frames, instead of just animating it as a gif).
  17. Sadly, no. It won't, because I need to be able to make individual waves with which to animate with, similar to my avatar.
  18. Hi! I'm new, and I've been using Paint.Net for a lot of my graphical needs (I modify open source games, make websites, and other stuff). This time, I'm at a roadblock in a project I've been working on, because I need a flag-wave effect for a flat image. I've tried a bunch of ideas to try to simulate it (because I have to slowly animate each frame of it I actually draw), but I haven't gotten anything. Can anyone help me in any way? Example: My Avatar Edit: And yes, I used Search (Search) to try to find what I was looking for, and went page to page in the Tutorials forum, but still couldn't find what I needed. =|
