hmm, I'm not a pro myself but maybe duplicate the part you want feathered and then gaussian blur the bottom layer? Then maybe feather the top one... might give better effect.

Ok i see that is all normal. Your problem is that the header's width combined with the add is too big for your scrn size. I'm not sure what to do about that, since I usually try to pick free hosts with no banners. What you could try to do is position the header with Css. I'm actually writing a tut of *how to make a header* at the moment. Most of the time headers are about 1000x350, but only the center is used. the rest is for blending with the rest of the page. For example, on THIS PAGE, the header is 1000x152, but if you look at it closely you'll see the third of it is used to blend arround. So basicly, it depends on what webpage. If you could post your webpage here, i could try to help. Also, you might want to move your text using Css, so that everything is at the good place. Good luck!

there's something intergrated in the distort effect folder called Mosaic Reflexion... isnt that what you need?
