  1. Thanks for the tutorial, Jake. I used it to make a banner that my band might use, if they like it. Click for full size Edit: This time I just used the $ & ยข signs Again, click it for a bigger version.
  2. First, make all the images the same size, in your case 800 x 100. Then create a new image the same size. Click on layers > Import from file & do this for all 3 or however many images you've got. Now, for the gradients you need to have the top layer selected, then use the gradient tool ( ) & click :AllColorChannels: so it turns to :AlphaChannel: . Then you create a gradient on the top layer which will make part of the layer below show through, tweak the nubs to get the images to fade in a way you like & then repeat the process on the layers below. Hope that helps.
  3. The easiest way to do that is to open the images on separate layers then use a transparency gradient ( set to :AlphaChannel: ). Hope that helps
  4. If you need to find out a particular colour you can use the colour picker. The cursors co-ordinates can be found in the lower right hand side of the screen, under the layers menu.
  5. symiggy wants to turn black & white pictures into colour, that I presume, are black & white to begin with.
  6. If I remember correctly, professional printing resolution is 600 DPI / PPI (same thing). This will essentially double the resolution of your image, Oma.
  7. Tanel made a colour to Alpha plugin which is what that seems to be doing...
  8. Myrddin wrote a tutorial for adding Fonts, search the tutorials forum & it should pop up. If it's not a TT (TrueType) font then it won't work in Paint.NET, just something to bear in mind when you're looking at fonts Edit: I think Myrddin wrote it anyway, if he didn't then I apologise to the tutorials real author
  9. If the text is on it's own layer you can do many things to it, these things include applying effects (gaussian blur or curves adjustments for instance) you can flip the layer in an way shape or form. There are things you can't do however, if you make a typo, you'd have to re-type all your text, you can't just go in & edit that one letter like you can in Word or Photoshop (not 2 programs one would normally associate but that's by the by). You said you wanted to italicise the text, to do that you'd need to make it italic before you deselect the text, this is the same for things like changing the font or font size, editable text is something that is coming in future versions, although wouldn't hold my breath.
  10. Also, make sure your secondary colour is set to transparent (click the More button on the colour window), that should stop paint.net adding any colours around images you import
  11. If you give us an image to work with then we'll see what we can do, it's a lot easeir working from an image rather than just guessing what needs to be done.
  12. Lithium, try making the pebbles black & white then doing the tutorial, see which you preffer.
  13. Louey2322, did you unzip the file before you copy & pasted the .dll file? If you didn't then that is probably why it isn't working.
  14. What if you don't want to have to re-open the plugin?
  15. Hi, welcome to the forum. This post belongs in the troubleshooting forum. Also, please be sure to read the rules
  16. BoltBait did write a series of tutorials on writing plugins, if you search they should show themselves.
  17. Someone's set to get the Wrong End of a Massive pwnage award this year
  18. Sorry to go a little offtopic, but that is an absolutely fantastic philosophy. QFT Yes! Do that I know that too many cooks spoil the broth / steak / whatever but still a little teamwork isn't going to hurt anyone is it?
  19. I'm sure that the K from CMYK stands for Key not Kill, but aside from that there's some very hand information in there, thanks very much
  20. If you create a new layer underneath the one you want to keep alpha values on then merge or layer down onto it that will preserve the alpha of whatever was on the layer.
  21. It probably got lost after Rick changed the forum over to phpbb3.
  22. Keep them somewhere you'll remember them Oma. A new file in my documents would do, or in with all your PDN creations, wherever you'll remember it.
  23. To the best of my (small) knowledge, this wouldn't be possible, the only way to get the plugin to work would be to create a new layer & then run the effect.
  24. Now it's too wide, Read the rules & you shall find out how big it can be.
