  1. The bunny is freakin' amazing! How in the heck do you guys do this stuff? Gee whiz!
  2. would love to see an animated png of the froggy rather than gif... stupid jaggies! stupid gif! stupid other stuff that I feel like identifying as stupid!
  3. The turtle, penguin, and night sky all look wonderful Helen. As always, I am truly humbled by your work. You people are so good that I'd leave this forum with my tail tucked between my legs if I didn't like to simply come here and stare in awe. Tremendous!
  4. I've pretty much stuck to mainly editing images and photos that already exist, unless it was an abstract creation. Today, I created my first piece of work from scratch -- The Googleville Slugger. And while it's not all that great, I don't think it's lousy either. I'm reasonably pleased with the result. Let me know what you think.
  5. It's pretty good. You might want to add your name to the thread title so that if anyone uses the "search" functionality to find your gallery it can be located more easily.
  6. Amy opinions or (better yet) pointers with regards to my latest additions?
  7. I thought I would throw my own hat into the race! -Edit: Changed linked image to jpg... png was simply too large.
  8. Your post is making me think that it's time to get some tattoos of my favorite 8-bit video game characters, pixel art style.
  9. Added another one... the source of this art... my pain.
  10. Wow Helen... not only are you really good, but you keep getting better and better. New rule, you're not allowed to complement me any more! You are good.
  11. If you're just starting out and are already this good, you're making me feel really badly. Good stuff!
  12. Thanks Helen. I'm trying my best not to go making anything too complex until I feel up to the challenger. So, we'll stay basic and GRADUALLY turn up the difficulty.
  13. Thanks... what do you think of the new 3rd one I just added?
  14. In this thread I'm going to post the images of all of the Twitter backgrounds that I create using PDN. Please go easy on me, I don't profess to being a graphic designer like many of you. The work I see here is amazing! I am VERY MUCH an amateur, and not even a good one, at that. So, I don't expect praise (Not worthy of any to begin with), but please don't drop too many hot coals on me either. I'm doing the best I can. Most Recent Update/s: Googleville Slugger -- First non-abstract piece that I created from scratch. My first two... From MY Twitter Profile My Friend MikeF1182's Profile I plan to make a few more for some other pals... assuming they actually want them. I hope to get better and better as I go. Truth be told, I decided to start doing this for the purpose of improving my skills with PDN. *fingers crossed* =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Additions Since Originals =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= My Friend Susan Helander's Profile =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Images without Thumbnails... a.k.a. images other than Twitter backgrounds =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Pleasantville Amanda Hidden Content: This one is very bittersweet for me. This is my bride on our wedding day. The reason it's bittersweet is we're currently going through a divorce I have wanted no part of, and have fought the last 14 months against. She and her family picked up the rest of her stuff Sunday after church. So, I made this today -- looking back through our wedding album. This is the best my shaky hand and teary eyes could accomplish. 15. You're right that it's not "exactly" what I want... but it's pretty darn close. I'll give it a try this evening and see what I can't come up with. Thanks for the link!
  16. Does anyone have an easy method for making it look as through something from the background is coming to the foreground by bursting through it. Maybe like a fist punching through paper or a photo of yourself coming through what appears to be the background of a "paper wall." Perhaps something similar to Lisa Preston's text on her Twitter profile... Any ideas on how to most easily accomplish that and make it look pretty decent? Thanks!
  17. In the end, I just couldn't make it happen, so I went with this... Amateurish, and NOT what I had in mind, but I still like it... and I guess that's all that matters. Right?
  18. Unless, I'm making poor use of the hints (which is always possible... LIKELY even) that doesn't work AT ALL. It does however, provide a different effect that I could probably make use of if we don't get this to work. This gave me a cool back up plan... Me "smoking" with a "cloud" of smoke behind me, with ToaC Toac Toac Toac merely floating, bend out to the right of my head. Not what I want, but it could work... may even work better than what I envisioned.
  19. If anyone can come up with an effect or howto for making text look like smoke (think, smoke rings) I would be truly indebted to them. See, I run a blog named ToaCx4 (which stands for Thoughts of a Crazy, Constitutionally Conservative Christian) and is pronounced "toke times 4"... as such, I'd like to make a header image where I'm smoking a "cigarette" or "cigar" and exhale, "ToaC - ToaC - ToaC - ToaC". But I need your help. I can't do it. I've invested about 20 hours trying this on my own so far and all of the results have been something I would be no less than embarrassed to display. Please rescue me. Please! Thanks, JaceMan
  20. I hope it works, I need to do this very chore right now. -Edit- After trying: Neither of the options listed provide what looks like the look of torn paper to me. As always, I could be using the techniques incorrectly.
  21. If my workload EVER lightens up, I simply MUST play with this. Although, I don't know why that's a MUST for me considering my graphic skills are 2 points shy of being below average it is going to be pretty difficult for me to figure out what tool/s would actually benefit me that aren't already present. Regardless, this is super sweet. I did not know that .NET was capable of doing anything like this.
  22. That can be dangerous unless clare can edit the image she picks beyond recognition. Just because you find an image online doesn't mean that it is public domain and you are free to use/modify it for your own purposes.
  23. Don't bother with samples, compress your own using JNG at 90% and see what comes out. the point of JNG is to have a file with alpha transparency and some compression, so comparing it with JPEG isn't quite appropriate. I understand the bit about transparency, but if we're not to bother with samples, why provide them? I would think the purpose for them would be to "show off" what is being promoted. If they don't serve that function, it seems a bit of a waste to me.
  24. As I've browsed through the forum I find that this LiteBrite effect is the coolest thing I've seen in a long time. I simply MUST give it a try! Thank you, thank you for showing me this!
