  1. I have been working on making this have a transparent background, (everything outside the blue ring, except where the feather goes outside the blue box). When I use the magic wand and delete the background, it has very jagged edges and a lot of pixels that don't clean up. I tried using the eraser to clean them up, but it looks awful. I read in some of the posts to try feathering it, but I don't know how to do that. I tried selecting the blue ring and feathering but didn't see where that helped. I would appreciate any other suggestions. Thanks.
  2. I want to take a photo image and make it look like a drawing highlighted with watercolor. I tried using the the pencil drawing effect on one layer, and the pastel effect on a second one, but I can't seem to get them to both show when I merge them. If I use just the pastel effect, it looses too much of the detail (that's why I want the drawing to show through.) Anybody have any ideas?
  3. This seems too easy of a question, but I couldn't find the answer. I have a picture of something that is in color, has a grey shadow behind it on a white background. I want to keep the color image and the grey shadow, but make the white background transparent so that you can see the color of the background wherever I use it. I tried selecting it and making the primary color transparent and using the paint bucket, but nothing changed. How do I do that?
  4. I've been playing with the conditional hue/saturation, but I don't understand how to use it. I want to turn all of the purple colors to teal. How do I do that?
  5. I have an image that has a lot of detail and shading. Is there a way to change the color and keep the shading without going pixel by pixel?
  6. Okay. I think I almost have it, but I am having trouble getting the bottom corners to match. Were your pictures different sizes to begin with? Or how do you make the oblique image match up with the bottom image at the corner without covering the bottom image? Also, is there a way to save just the card without any background? I want to use multiple images in a .swf movie and the background would be the movie background.
  7. Thank you all so much. I think I have what I need now. Do you guys get all this knowledge just by playing with it? The tutorials are very helpful. Thanks again.
  8. I am totally new to this, but I would like to make an image that looks like a greeting card. So the picture would be on the front, and you could just see the top edge of the inside of the card, like it was just open a little ways. I can't quite figure out how you make two layers that do not overlay each other. I tried using the tutorial for the 3D picture cube, but I had the same problem. When I imported the second layer, it took up the whole canvas space, and when I tried to change the size of the image, it changed both layers. Could someone point me in the right direction?
