does no one have any suggestions?

i'm trying to create some space scenes and this is the best i can do at this point. i'm looking for some criticism, mainly on the star. i can't seem to get it just right. http://img353.imageshack.us/img353/1162/untitledqo2.png

i checked out the grass tutorial. very nice i may add. yet i was wondering if anyone has any ideas about making the grass without blurs. seems like no matter how much i sharpen the image i can't get it perfect. this is what i am able to do so far: http://img503.imageshack.us/my.php?image=grassld8.png and another http://img507.imageshack.us/my.php?image=meadowux3.png

all can say as wonderful. i've only had Paint.net 2 days and after perusing this forum i see the possibilities. wow. this is my current background for my computer. i did this last night after reading the How to make fire tutorial. i'm still tweaking it, yet i like it. http://img300.imageshack.us/my.php?imag ... netnp8.png
