  1. This is too good. Both Madjik and Wither decide to reappear?

Madjik, "??" is quite cool, and "Stomach Pain" gives me mental pain. I'm glad you're still making things! :)

Wither, that bottom image has a very distinct, neat effect... too bad you can't remember how it was created. :(

    Great work, you two!

  3. Two lone figures face each other...

A face–off unlike any other in MSC history! A duel of two: St.Jim and Kemaru. (Unintentional rhyme.)

Cast your vote now, you have until 6:30pm (EST) on the 6th!

    Media Player triumphs!

Voting has concluded, and the Media Player wins by a furlong. Open up your trusty PDN, grab your beverage of choice, and prepare for battle.

    Specifications:

Your mission (should you choose to accept): (re)design an application designed to play audio and video. Note the parenthetical nature of the 're'; the option for creation has been popular within these competitions, so why drop it now? You must either redesign an existing player, or design and create concept artwork for your own.

    Clarifications:

As is self–evident (or should be), Paint.NET must be the only graphical program used to create your submission. Also, remember: any portion of your work which you did not make (e.g.—icons, photographs, etc.) must be credited as a 'stock' resource. When submitting, simply post your entry in this thread.

    Rules:

    • [*:lkb00irk]All of the
Forum Rules apply. Any submission that breaks the Rules will be instantly disqualified; further measures may be taken at the Moderating Team's discretion.
[*:lkb00irk]All source images used in your submission must be linked to. If you fail to provide these by the end of submission time, your creation will be disqualified.
[*:lkb00irk]Unless your screenshots are small, please post extra screenshots after your first as clickable thumbnails (how do I do this?).
[*:lkb00irk]Once you have submitted your entry, you may no longer add to or edit your post, with the exception of adding links to source images.
[*:lkb00irk]This thread is for submissions only. If you'd like to discuss the competition or a submission, look no further!
    [*:lkb00irk]Be courteous and kind.
    [*:lkb00irk]Have fun!

All entries are due by 11:59pm (EST), Saturday, the 24th of January.

    Now, GO!

  4. Hello, rainshine.

Sure, you can use Paint.NET for print work! When creating a new document (File > New..., Ctrl+N, or the New icon ( :FileNew: ) in the Toolbar), notice that you may specify the size of the document according to inches or centimeters, and adjust the resolution (pixels/dots per inch/centimeter).

If you would like some precision in your layout creation, I would suggest enabling the rulers, which are quite similar to Photoshop's, and can be enabled via View > Rulers or the Rulers icon ( :Rulers: ) in the toolbar.

Unfortunately, Paint.NET does not have any Guide system yet, but this grid making plugin might be helpful: viewtopic.php?f=16&t=4879. Also, check out the Align Object plugin: viewtopic.php?f=16&t=4900—very useful as well.

  5. I've let this get greatly out of hand! Never fear, it shall be un–cared–for no more.

@CommanderSozo: Thanks a bunch. 'Tis especially appreciated as one space artist to another. ;)

@The_Lionhearted: You know, I thought millennia might make it too. It was a (pleasant) surprise when I found something else.

@Pluberus: I'm glad you like them! Thanks for the complements. :)

    @Champjev, Lego, marc, jedi12, morphedkirby, & anonymous6366*: Many thanks!

As time allows, the gallery shall be added to and improved.

*Sorry for the lack of personalized responses, but it does save much time and post space.

  6. Hello, Nytingale!

This plugin should take care of your needs. Note that the text on which you would like to perform the operation on needs to be surrounded by transparency. (Usually this means creating your text on a separate layer.) To learn about layers, this page from the Help Documents introduces the layers window, and I'd check out this article to gain an understanding of the concept of layers.

If you're unsure about how to install plugins, this is the thread for you!

Edit: Yarr, David beats me by a fraction of a second!

  7. Is there a minimum ammount of screenshots needed?

Sí señor. Un es el confín. (One is the limit.)

I think it can be however you want to look like, all it has to do is follow forum rules.

Very good, LFC4EVER! This is very apt for the moment; I thought that conformation to the Forum Rules would be a given, but this has been recently disproved. I've amended the Competition's Rules.

Helio, great theme! I shall definitely be entering this one. This time i shall design a website thats not too thin :P

    Thanks for that, too. :)
