  1. Well, I'm glad it helps. Maybe I should add it to my signature.
  2. Worse than that, there's actually no real way to make it work. Color is incredibly subjective, so calibrating to the human eye is a terrible idea. That means you need an objective, numerical (for computers, remember) standard. Which means you're left with the CMYK color model or the RGB color model. Since the pixels in a monitor are already red, green and blue, you have to make it RGB before the person sees it anyway. So why waste time with CMYK? It would make this a very expensive hobby.
  3. There are programs that simulate pigment-based color systems (programs like Photoshop, Illustrator, etc); however, they're only simulations until you print them out, because your monitor uses the light color model. And there's not really any way around that.
  4. If you're asking what I think you're asking, that's impossible.
  5. Unfortunately, this is a free program, and translation agencies are expensive. :-)
  6. That doesn't really make a whole lot of sense. Despite the name, Paint.NET doesn't actually use any paint. :-) It's actually working with light, so for it to be as accurate as it can be, it needs to work with the light color model. Also, that's the standard for all graphics editing programs (except those that deal with print primarily). It would be weird to give PdN something different from the industry standard.
  7. Again, shouldn't be necessary. My assumption is that the file is getting corrupted, or that the OP is downloading the wrong file.
  8. Sounds like you tried to resize using "Image > Canvas Size", not "Image > Resize." Try the latter and let us know if that works.
  9. Unnecessary. Windows has had a built-in unzip utility since Windows 98. RonRebel: How are you trying to open the file? What is the file's size?
  10. Also, if you're pressing "backspace" expecting it to delete the area, you're going to have a bad time. :-) You want the "Delete" key instead.
  11. You need to catch up on your Windows updates. Windows 7 Service Pack 1 is the earliest supported system.
  12. Aw, that's disappointing. Locked for now. madcatprime - send me a message if/when you get your site back up and running and I'll unlock. Unlocked for edits!
  13. Excluding plugins would be excluding one of the biggest reasons to use Paint.NET. And if you download exclusively from this forum (especially from Ego Eram Reputo's plugin index), you can be sure that every plugin you download has been checked and vetted by people on the forum to be just as safe as the program itself.
  14. As you'll note in the rules, we cannot support old versions of Paint.NET. It's nothing against you, but quite simply, old versions of the program have problems that have been solved in the interim. I'll lock this now. If you still have problems with this issue in a current version of the program, feel free to open a new thread. :-) Thanks!
  15. Fair point. Apologies if I offended you, Eli; I never intended such. That said, there are men who enjoy the color pink, and I myself enjoy peeling potatoes, so... Good to be back. Family is wonderful and amazing. I'm very blessed and lucky.
  16. Have you tried out Pyrochild's Scriptlab? It provides a GUI for this exact thing.
  17. He's right, you know. I've made the edit. You may want to check out the forum rules before going any further, though, TooOld.
  18. This is a fantastic tutorial, but unfortunately the image host for the screenshots has decided to replace the images with ads, so I've snipped out the images and locked & unpinned the tut. OP: Please contact me if you'd like to replace the images, and we'll reopen and repin the tutorial.
  19. Searge (of Minecraft fame) uses Paint.NET for his image editing! New Minecraft snapshot features textures edited in PdN. (from https://twitter.com/SeargeDP/status/633676738271145986 )
  20. If you click this image on the download page, you will get the correct program with no spyware. We're working on a redesign, and making the download page more clear is near the top of the priority list for design.
  21. Goonfella, I removed the link. Not that I think you were wrong for giving it to Damonj, but because linking to an older version lends legitimacy. Unfortunately, as there is no official version of 3.5.11, anyone who downloads it from any source does so at their own risk. We want this forum to be a source of good and solid downloads (we don't want people to have to wonder whether our links are good or not). Since we can't be sure about that for any sources of 3.5.11, we can't post any links to that version. Damonj, you might consider dropping a few bones on Windows 7 or 8.1. They've got some great features you'll really like.
  22. I don't write any code for the program. And your attitude has improved slightly, but the cursing has got to stop as well. Read the rules, you're not exempt just because you're upset.
