I found paint.net looking for a replacement for photoshop. After looking at the price of photoshop and picking my shocked self up off of the floor, I started googling.

no prob. it probably took me longer to figure it out because i didn't have the brains to ask.

I think you need to set your tolerance lower. You have to play with it until it is right. I'm just beginning with the program, and I could be wrong.
Surely a grizzled old veteran will answer this question in a little bit.

For paint.net and everything that I had to download to get it, it was alllllllll night, and part of the next morning.

Thanks for your reply. I was on another forum, and they basically told me that my work looked like **** because it is not vector.
I still have a lot to learn about this program and computer graphics in general. I have been doodling on computers since windows 3.1, but my first love is graphite pencil.
I'm looking forward to being a part of this forum.
