  1. I ran into this problem very early with Paint.NET, and it was kindly answered here in short order, so I should return the favour: Select the Magic Wand tool. Click on the white background colour. Fiddle with the Tolerance if you have to. Then push the Delete key. I have a hunch that'll do what you want it to. Cheers, Roger

  3. I'm loving Paint.NET so far, but there's something I inexplicably can't figure out... Back in the old MS Paint, you could pick a background colour to be transparent and turn off the Draw Opaque option. Is there something similar in Paint.NET? A probably-related question: how do I set the transparent colour for a GIF (or other file format that supports it)? I tried searching these forums but all I could find was a lot on layer transparency, which is very cool, but not really what I want (I don't think.) Thanks, Roger
