  1. grid maker acting strange? running version 3.2.0.0 when I try to grid large size image this is what I get. A large blank space in the middle section.
  2. real nice strawberry. yummmy goonfella if you used the cached link it shows for now http://74.125.95.132/search?q=cache:bL6 ... cd=1&gl=ca what did you use for the pillow emboss step ?
  3. great work on those two abstracts. like how you did that lighting in the second one. A whole lot!
  4. thanks you glad you enjoyed the tut. do you mean like the one goonfella did in this thread viewtopic.php?f=12&t=28459&hilit=plastic+wrap he followed a psd tut. and gave the alternate settings to get the shiny orange segment. EDIT real real real quick 1min job on a kiwi slice. I didn't work out any coloration or textures. but this what you are after? you can tell its a real hack job see all the stray little pixels I left in there?
  5. AHH zoom of course its going to have jjjaggies then.
  6. I know my eyes are bad ... but how come I never see these jaggies everyone talks about? OMA
  7. yummmmmmmm that strawberry has my mouth watering. very nice. ciao
  8. yes agree totally ragged looking. It was just my quick pass thru of the psd tut to see what I needed to brush up on to be able to convert over. Still much better that the ones I'd been trying to do myself with out any tut as guidance. I'm actually after a clearer bottle shape, but think I can get a conversion out of those. ciao
  9. I agree ...... and off hand I can not think of one decent thing I can show them to do without a plugin. So guess its not going to happen folks, take the plunge download a few plugins. If you are timid try at least downloading either BoltBaits, Pyrochilds, or Madjiks pkgs. Simon wrote the brushes one and that seems real popular. There are so many good ones other than these but for a starter they should give you a broad idea of how powerful this program is. As you get more familiar and comfortable add on as required. ciao OMA
  10. Search for "Printer+." actually Simon when you type Printer+ in the search engine it doesn't bring up your plugin. ciao OMA
  11. thanks BoltBait looked there under help. just wanted to verify that was the most recent listing. I know noise+ is part of the basic now but see the picture just lists noise.
  12. I see a lot of requests lately for tuts with out plugins. the stripped down version if I check in F1 and look in effects is that the naked version? (with no added plugins). It might be difficult to come up with anything that basic. I'll have to think on what is possible. I've so many plugins and use them all the time, I can't recall what the basic is. ciao OMA
  13. you are welcome don't be afraid to play with the plugin make the darn thing rock. push it to the limits. what's the worst that can happen. it freezes. and you just start over. ciao have fun. OMA
  14. what would those boxes and buttons along the top of the plugin be for? did you at least push one or two of them. hint the color one on the end. number 1 and 2 buttons. might just open a color wheel.
  15. thanks but these bottles are definetly not my best work. I never really was good working from psd tut's. I've modified in a number of ways. OH well next couple of attempts should be better. but at least I learned how to round off the corners. next I need to work on cleaning up the edges. next picture should be better. maybe I'll even attempt clearer colored glass bottles.
  16. @jedi12 that's great as goonfellow said use the both the psd apple tut and my pear tut together. first work thru on making bottles modified the psd tut mentioned by Storm.shadow above . Still some issues in using the reflection plugin. I just can not seem to get rid of that one line along the bottom edge between the glass bottle and the shadow ciao

thanks Helen. can you tell I'm feeling upbeat! but then again I'm seldom down. LOL!
  18. oh you would ask that. this one is one of those do a layer duplicate additive whip it around in 3d shape then polar inversion merge additive again reshape inside out etc etc etc. maybe more polar inversions. more 3d shape some multiply blend modes. etc etc. I'm trying to figure out a good real simple tut to show some of this but I get going and after about 10 mins I think you'd be totally lost. not good tut material or rather great tut material but way too much of it. OMA edit theres a lot of edges in it as well.
  19. no problem we've all been beginners at some point or other. once I saw your screen shot I realized you were probably mistaking that little thumb up in the right as indicator of layers. that is where you see which pictures are open in Paint.net. you just stick with it. eventually it gets much easier. ciao OMA
  20. loving those vista ish images. keep them coming I added a new abstract to my gallery. called Vapours looks better in large full size. (in my gallery pg 22)
  21. we are asking for the layers window info see along the top it says file edit view etc. hit the window button a drop down menu comes and hit the layers to show if you have one layer its already flattened if it show like my second image above with two layers you need to flatten you do that along top line file edit view hit the image button and then flatten. if its grayed out then its one layer already. from there go to file and hit that button save as. next.

  23. well done Welshblue. Pregnant pear. LOL ! gotta love your little womans sense of humour. absolutely love the stem. I'm wanting a mini tut PM'd to me on that one. pregnant pear. oh I can see I'm going to have some fanciful dreams tonight. wonder what pictures this will trigger in the near future for me.
  24. ahh but you have half of it mastered already you can imagine how the image should be. You are able to notice the placement of highlights and lowlights. Thanks for the nice words about my gallery, I'm still learning myself. It takes practice and more practice. wise words given to me by ASH way back when I first started out. ciao OMA PS I'm working on a wine bottle. funny how that fit in exactly with the picture I was already working on.
