  1. thank you I'm glad you learned some steps that will make your enjoyment and ability to experiment more with the program. by the way you have done one awesome job on your leaf. look forward to viewing some of your artwork shortly in the pictorium. ciao OMA
  2. when you say shrink it t 3x 3 do you just pull in the corner tabs and leave the full screen at the original 12 x 12 or do you go to image and use resize? this certainly makes me think you have left it on the whole 12 x 12 canvas and are selecting the entire layer and not just the 3 x 3 picture. if this isn't what is happening you had like Simon advised post a screen shot.{ of the full screen showing where your marching ants are when you clik copy} Its usually the quickest and easiest way to see where you might be going off incorrectly. ciao OMA
  3. just out of curiosity do you perhaps have a one pixel selected anywhere on your screen? that would make the line tools and the rectangle not work outside the selected pixel area. also another thing to check is if the selection mode is set to replace or something else. that would make the paintbrush etc. not work. just a couple of things to look at before you panic. ' best bet if you know how to post a screen capture image do so. It might just be a setting you have touched and didn't realize. ciao OMA

  6. Hi lorri nice gallery so far. are you going to post your heart you were working on. Would love to see how you made out. ciao OMA
  7. I like that. good tip. thanks. ciao OMA
  8. welcome back. I see you are really doing well with your drawing. very nice. I love the little girl picture. so sweet. hope to see more soon. ciao OMA
  9. Hi just stopping by like how you have reformatted your gallery. you know my favourite type of art is abstract, and the one of yours I like the best is the one you call bubble. that is so refreshing. not overdone the color is spot on, very nice. by the way I used to program in 1's and 0's on old punch cards. Your dad might get a kick out of that. Imagine sitting in front of one massive machine all day punching little holes in cards to make a computor the size of a house run. these new computors just make my head spin so fast and so efficient. ciao OMA .
  10. hello welcome I'm glad you found your way to the forums. very nice work you have shown so far. soft and delicate. I can see you enjoy using brushes. hope to see more of your work soon. ciao OMA
  11. nice wine bottle two things that might make it more realistic is a longer neck and see at the bottom not quite such a rounded curve. its looking like it might tip over. I love the label and its sure to be a quality vintage. good job. ciao OMA
  12. Yes that would be great idea! fireworks just went off in my mind on how I'd use that. wow!
  13. high quality very nice plug in. found if you do two buttons the same but the top one in gray writing and lower transparency and offset writing by 1 or 2 you can get a shadow. looks like it works best in black writing. I know I'm asking for the moon but is there any way to load a premade background instead of solid color? similar to a photo flood fill option?
  14. oh I'm speechless and that doesn't happen too often. great job on the teddy that addition of the balloon just is the correct touch. . ciao
  15. it sounds like you do not understand how to merge layers? forgive me if that's not the problem but your message is a bit difficult to break down to what is causing your problem. look at this is this what you have on your screen ? this program always merges layers downwards ie top layer down to the next layer etc. until all layers are merged. to highlight the top layer it is just a matter of cliking on the layer in layer box it should turn blue behind the writing. if that's not where you are stuck let us know, its just seems that's where you are going off from your explination..
  16. I love the symmetry of this one.! and the colors, and the concept and well just everything about it appeals to me. ciao OMA
  17. precious little bear, all he needs is a stitched on heart. great graphic. ciao OMA
  18. I'll put in some more info and a few more things to make it a bit more 3d after my morining coffee. ciao OMA
  19. Vresikon I like that image but I'm thinking its looking much more abstract than realistic. I can see shiny and next glass from this sort of image. You are doing very well. here is my semi realistic little mouse wishing you all a very happy upcoming valentines day.

thanks but they really aren't that well formed. needs to be more elongated and more pointed towards top end. they look like tulips to me. I did tell you I struggled with this paint.net same as all the rest of you. I just don't show to many of those bloopers .

you did see them. I twisted them out of shape and did the above with them. lotss of attitude. if it was at all possible blue steam would have been rising from the keyboard as I rushed to recreate. just kidding. I actually didn't keep my original rose but here is another little bouquet just for you. as roses they are a bit too rounded and not pointed enough near the top. but they remind me of stained glass. created from the above. notice there aren't any thorns in my rose garden. now what does that say about me . ciao PS I see you were asked about the heart I made. I posted a quick little mini tut on how I did the 3d shaping for the hearts. but not the pattern. That pattern is long gone. LOL!

thanks , I was actually half way thru drawing some roses and Helen posted hers first. so I had to salvage my picture. (her roses were better than mine as usual ) I loved the depth I was getting on the petals so I just did a garden of glossies with them. not sure if its the petals with the attitude or is it moi! ciao OMA
