  1. First all, apologies to Rick Brewster. I really appreciate having free access to such a well regarded programme. On reflection, it incorrect to imply that the developers should also donate an accompanying free book to the world. However, perhaps some other skilled contributor(s) to these tutorials would be prepared to take up the torch and run with it, by donating a Basic Manual to this website. Something similar to the three projects by Ms.Rouse (Google, ‘Paint.NET Kathy Rouse’) plus thumbnail/graphics additions and links to specifics in the tutorials, would make an excellent starter manual. In the meantime, I have taken an initial look at recommended advice locations and see much very useful information. Many thanks Contributors for making the effort to help me; there is lots of relevant detail, which will take me quite a long time to study.
  2. Edited by Rick: Removed capitals from thread title. PLEASE DON'T SHOUT LIKE THAT. Thanks. Hi everybody, I want to progress from Picassa type basic one dimensional alterations to working in layers. Rather then shell out for an expensive state of the art programme, I downloaded the free and well regarded Paint.NET. I thought that there would be good instructions, as it was invented by people in education circles. Having waded through Help Topics, I pitched up at this website. To a beginner, the Tutorials section mostly reads like esoteric discussion between learned academics. It is also depressing to read the 23rd December posting, ‘paint.net book?’ and the Lead Developer’s response, ‘maybe someone someday will do a book’. Does anyone know where I can find worked examples type of basic step by step guidance? ( I have found BMW car and Kathy Rouse projects so far).
