  1. Thank you for your answers. Well, not everybody is a geek and not everybody wants to do every little manipulation by himself and not everybody wants to fully understand all the effects. Some people (Or even most people?!) just want to do fancy graphics with some easy clicks. Especially fancy little logos. And it would all be so much easier with a bundled layer style tool. Not just macros! I believe the best would be a tool we one can easily add and combine effects on a layer - and most of all: change them on the fly and see the effects (with buttons and sliders). Kind regards, CrazyGerman
  2. Yes, I understand that all these functions are already there. But what I'm missing - and probably many others that have worked with photoshop - is a utility to EASILY access common layer style manipulations. This would be especially handy to create fancy text effects fast and easily and - even better - with some sort of preview (click and slide and see the changes instantly). It's all about usability. Examples?: * Try to apply the same (complex) effect to different layers (or an effect you used in a former picture to a new one). * Try to add pattern (texture) or stroke (border) to a text. According to the tutorials in this forum this needs - compared to photoshop - many clicks. And changing the texture oder the border-width cannot easily be done. I hope it's a little bit clearer now. Kind regards, your Crazy German
  3. Hi there, I really LOVE paint.net, thank you so much for this free and very useful program. There's is one last thing that would make this program perfect: Please add "layer styles" (similar to photoshop) to paint.net! I think this would be an extremely valuable feature. I searched these forums for tutorials and many effects are quite complicated to achieve. With "layer styles" one could add effects to layers and text fast and easily. And "layer styles" could be saved, reproduced and shared with others. I would suggest the following functions to "layer styles" - General Blending Options & Global Light - Drop & Inner Shadow - Inner & Outer Glow - Bevel and Emboss - Satin - Color, Gradient and Pattern(!) Overlay - Stroke/Outline - Copy & Past, Save & Load Layer Styles I'm looking forward to your answer. Kind regards, a Crazy German
