  1. I gotta agree with pyro there. It would probably be better to contact one of the CNET Download administrators to get the job done.
  2. This is a much-needed change, and nobody should be upset to the slightest except for the low-down people already abusing the license. You have no idea how many people have paid for it. I searched ebay for "image editor", and there were about 6 pages of The GIMP and Paint.NET. I emailed a few of the people ripped off (most of them responded and thanked me). Those people paid $20 for it, and they gave positive remarks to the sellers!
  3. I'd like this to happen. For the most part, I edit and create 1200x1600 pixel images. And knowing how Windows works (and a little of how PDN does), it shouldn't be too much of a project-- just adding a Registry Key stating the default pixel resolution and dpi.
  4. It looks like CMD wins hands down! A good MSC theme could be Myspace Layouts, but then again, there are so many (someone could just rip and post it as their own in 2 minutes).
  5. Experimental web layout (background image only): Also, expect a special creation of mine in the near future (hint: bloody potato!).
  6. Well first, I would like to applaud you for reading the popular feature request thread. A lot of people tend to ignore it. Here's your reward: *applauds* I think this goes into the category of Paint.NET 4.0. I'd love this feature as much as you would, but it takes a lot of coding to put such a feature together, and Rick Brewster may have to make more loopholes and rendering systems to get the job done (which wouldn't exactly qualify for a weekend project ).
  7. Try using BoltBait's color balance adjustment/plugin: viewtopic.php?f=16&t=3135
  8. Playing around with my tablet... Notice that my hair resembles that of a tall weed....
  9. Actually, this can be achieved pretty quick, without the use of a plugin or feature (see attachment). I did that in less than 2 minutes Now what's the first thing that comes to your mind when you load the image?
  10. Cake? Where? *looks around* >__> <__< >__< v__v Anywho, congrats, jerkfight! I didn't vote, but my vote was going to be for you anyways
  11. *logs on* *goes to GD+Q* *downloads 3.20a* *installs* *plays with new plugin layout* ...best release of Paint.NET ever! Thank you, Rick!
  12. I'm surprised nobody suggested making a text box to enter your number in yet. I'd find it much easier (and in most cases, faster) than up and down arrows. But personally, I hardly touch it. It's either at 0% or 69%
  13. It's a lot more work than you think... You'll need to create your own taskbar, window border, minimize button, maximize button, help button, close button, a generic button (i.e. O.K/Cancel), a checkbox, and an entire start menu, just to name a few, and all of those need at least 3 images (for when the button is disabled, highlighted, and pressed). If you open just one MS theme file, you'll realize all the work put into it (over 200 images in total). And if you want to make your theme actualy match, you'll have to create your own icons (My Computer, My Documents, My Pictures, My Music, My Videos, Search, Internet Explorer, Control Pane, Help & Support, and Run, from the top of my head). This is my alternative: Get the uxtheme patcher, download your favorite theme, get the XN Resource Editor, and open the theme. From there, you can edit the bitmaps and save it. The only downfall is that your theme would not be legit to upload to the internet (illegal to steal one's work without permission). That's why I only customize themes under the Creative Commons license. EDIT: You may want to rephrase that, because I don't have any idea what you mean...
  14. That's what they said when one noble man put an eraser on his pencil.... Just kidding. I'm on your side, pyro.
  15. If you use Paint.NET a lot and need only certain colors, make your own color palette. It'll take a long time to put together, but it's all worth it. The following link is the text file for palette I'm currently using. It has my most-used alpha values and light/dark values as well as some of my favorite colors (incomplete): http://usedhonda.110mb.com/pdnstuff/palette.txt In case you don't know, you should place it in ".../My Documents/Paint.NET User Files/Palettes". BTW, I think this should be in the Tutorials section. This is the type of thread a lot of users would want to find, and the first place they'd look is in Tutorials.
  16. Well.... you can do that, or you can just open a vector in Inkscape and export it as a PNG...
  17. Best tip ever: Don't settle for cheap Magic Wand selections, feathering or using the antialias plugin. Use the process of alpha masking. That way, you'll always have perfect edges. Second best tip ever: Get Curves+.
  18. This further shows that there should be two versions or modes for Paint.NET-- basic and advanced. On one side, you get a user interface easy to look at and edit for new users, and on the other, an option-packed editor for more professional users, yet still easier to look at than LIMP.* But of course, I'll have bring this up again when Paint.NET v4.0 Alpha comes out because 3.0 is still too easy to use  *not a typo, just a bad joke
  19. And if possible, resize your image to shorten loading times. An 8MP picture can take over a full minute just to preview your image.
  20. From what I've gathered, the submission window will be closed in a few hours and you'll PM your vote to Helio (but you never know if he changed the system).
  21. Haven't posted anything for a long time... Just an experiment of mine. It's a Mandelbrot fractal with a variety of effects, alpha adjustments, and layer blending to create some sort of 3D galaxy with 2D text in the middle (origional image is 1600x1200). 100% PDN, couldn't reproduce it if I tried. Feedback, please
  22. Let's see.... there's the brush tool, the line/curve tool, and median blur*. But I'd recommend getting Inkscape (free) and a tablet ($15-500) if nessesary. *does almost the same thing as vectorizing an image EDIT@post below: Me..... [i'd use it for a desktop wallpaper or a t-shirt]
