  1. Simply Cut and Paste the font files into C:/WINDOWS/Fonts and restart Paint.NET. If done right, you should have some new fonts in Paint.NET and other programs that use fonts.
  2. I'm not sure exactly what you mean by "project", but my interpretations tell me that you want to compress your image's file size without lowering the quality... If that is true and the file type you're saving is PNG, then download a PNG compressor like "PNGout" or "PNGcrush". If I'm wrong in my interpretation, please clarify.
  3. Still, the main Photoshop folder was over 500MB when I first installed it on Mac.
  4. You know that saying "if you have to ask, you can't afford it"? That, in some ways, applies to Paint.NET and Photoshop. Photoshop (I'll call it CS3 from now on) is basically the best image editor on the face of the Earth. But it has its own downfalls. It's very hard to learn, its very expensive, and it can lag in performance on some (or most) computers. In my opinion, Photoshop should only be used by the most professional of the Elite Masters because there's so much to learn about it. But sadly, most of the people that have it don't take in nearly a quarter of what it can do (yet most of them think they are). Paint.NET is not comparable to that. Were talking about two completely different cars here: A Chevy Volt concept and Lamborghini Galardo Superleggera (with Paint.NET being the Volt). The Galardo is extreemly powerful, but can be hard to handle (it takes a pro) and isn't very efficient (not to mention it's low reliability). The Volt, however, is more of a mid-performance car that costs much, much, much less than the Lambo, any teenager can drive it without denting within the first two blocks, and is extreemly efficient and reliable (getting 50-infininity miles per gallon with a home or gas-rechargeable Lithium Ion battery letting you go over 40 miles without using a drop of gas and I shouldn't be talking about it in this thread even though it's so cool). To put it in a less metaphorical way, Paint.NET is smaller, faster, easier, and cheaper than Photoshop which is bulky, expensive, sometimes slow, and difficult to learn.
  5. *revives old sticky* Nice one! I know I've seen this before..... oh yes! It was in Popular Photography a few months ago (as a CS2 tutorial)!
  6. Vector.NET sounds cool. Wow, when did that happen?! *doesn't wait for reply and starts looking for a bigger avatar*
  7. I don't see this happening in the forums. Especially with Rick as the admin.
  8. Looks very nice, aguba, but the brush needs better antialiasing.
  9. Wait... if you already have Photoshop, I think you're good to go. And besides, there are other great [free] programs already available for Mac like this one.
  10. Yeah, I'm planning on doing a 100% PDN as a second entry (I'm already halfway done with it).
  11. Just spotted on Google Maps! The Paint.NET crop circle-thinggy! 8) EDIT: Notice that the crop circle's creator used my version of the Paint.NET logo...
  12. I guess that means that I'll need to use images from Flickr or dA (with permission from the photographer of course).
  13. I already have two done (from the last 3 months), but I'm probably going to only enter the newest one.
  14. Wait... I submitted my first entry, then read the rules. It says that once posted, you may no longer edit your post. Should I delete my post? EDIT: Okay, I deleted it.
  15. Unofficial Paint.NET Logo Contest 2 FTW! Before CMD opens the thread for it, I would like to request one restriction: 3 entries per user (or at least 2 because one isn't enough).
  16. I'll chime in again! How about another PDN logo contest? It's been over half a year since the last one and I'd like to see what everybody can do! @Buzzkill: This would be my splash screen:
  17. Thanks, all! I didn't add the gradients in the .net because I don't think it looks very good (plain text can do wonders).
  18. I would like to see a downloadable help file in the future because there are times when the internet goes out or you don't have wifi in the area you're in. Just my 2 half-pennies Also as a note to williamr, PNG is basically the same thing as BMP but with a different file extension, smaller file size, and it supports transparency (alpha values).
  19. I think I know why this person keeps creating the same topic-- they're new to forums and don't know how threads/topics work.
  20. I can imagine making a series of wallpapers like this where the "new" Paint.NET logo is placed at the vocal point of the image.
