I was fooling around with sharpening and wanted to see the impact of different levels so I created a simple image with light gray, dark gray and white intersecting each other. I sharpened but didn't get the expected result. Instead I got what's shown below. Certainly this isn't normal is it?

Hi, I'm recently discovered Paint.NET and have been very impressed with it's feature set and the support available on this forum. Is there a way to expand or contract a selection by a specified number of pixel?
