Can you be more specific about the crash? Any messages from the system? Did you see my entry @ tue dec 6 2006? The outlook is gloomy, so far no solution for me.

yes I have seen that item and I do not see how it compares to my situation. Here is what I think has happend; The installer created the keys I reported and then later in the process it checked and came with the error messages. Than it removed all the created files as I could see it on my screen, leaving me with no executable. So is it a matter of permission that had to be given for a new application in .Net framework v 2.0? I am out of ideas. The installer is PaintdotNet_247009377.msi

that could be, and that is why it is not installed. There is realy no match with Paint.net in the complete registry. Meaning that the installer is faulty the installation didnot complete. now what?

it seems like but it is different in that the installation failed and there is no Paint.net key to find with regedit ! In fact there was no installation...
