  1. The car one was the coolest, the snow one was the most creative. I like all 3 though.
  2. If you haven't already, take the .dll file, and put it in the "effects" folder in your PDN program files. Once you load up PDN, it should appear in the effects menu. Just toy around with it then to find out how it works. I remember, the other day I had to download a crapload of plugins I never had, because I came back to these forums for the first time in ages. Among them was madjik's ray plugin. If I had known about it, I wouldn't have had to manually make light rays using the render and rotate tools like the ones in this picture :
  3. Oh yes we do. You could upload it to myspace and link it to someone. But if you're talking about a picture comment, upload your picture to http://www.tinypic.com, and grab the HTML code that pops up. Copy and paste it into a comment to send it. Now if you want to post a picture on the forums, do the same, but grab the box that has the tags in them. Another option would be to learn HTML, but I don't think you have the time.
  4. This is where you improvise. Note that image editing programs require that every now and then, and there's not an automatic filter for everything. Try this (exactly as I say): Add a new layer, with the line tool, on the new layer, outline (with no gaps) each object you want to stay colored. Once done outlining, ctrl+left click the insides of each of the three outlines. Click the first layer. Hit ctrl+I hit ctrl+shift+G. Delete the outline layer. You're done.
  5. Quite gross. But there's no doubting that you have artistic talent. Now, I'm posting this in here as well as in the actual competition thread because I'm an attention whore who loves feedback. Source images are outlined in the deviation description.
  6. Note, if you can't handle satire and/or sarcasm, then please go shoot yourself. Click for full size: Source images are outlined in the deviation description.
  7. So, um. It's been a while. Is the winner ever going to be announced? Again, sorry if I'm being impatient. I just want to know.
  8. Wow, CJMguiness (sp?) did the best in my opinion. He definitely has my vote. Great and convincing clone stamping effort. Sort of what mine looked like before I made the poor choice of having it look all cartoony.
  9. Hope I'm not too late! It's still March 1 where I am. Yeah... Pyjo's is the best, . Stock(s): Grass Texture (for the ground) Stucco Texture (for the body of the building) Wood Texture (for the window framework) Door
  10. When he said "by March 2nd", does that mean it's due by midnight tonight? Or does it mean by midnight tomorrow night? Because I've been hard at work on mine for a couple of hours now, and I'm not sure if I'll be done before midnight tonight. I might, but I might not. I still have a little over six hours left where I am. But I don't know if that'll be enough.
  11. Looks hot. I like it! CLICK FOR DEVIATION PAGES: Cartoony sky. 100% PDN. Logo someone asked me to make. PDN was the only image editor used. But it's obvious I used a stock photo for this one.
  12. Forgive me if I'm being impatient. But when is this week's winner going to be revealed? I know voting ended last night.
  13. Stuff I used: http://chineseculture.about.com/library ... cc_rat.htm http://enterpraiz.deviantart.com/art/Ap ... r-29204362 http://darkrose42-stock.deviantart.com/ ... e-50620777
  14. I rarely post, but I use PDN all the time, and I must say that this caught my eye!
  15. Nothing big, just a little project I did. 100% PDN, like Ash's tiger.
  16. So I just downloaded pdn version 3.10, and everything is great so far, but when I went to use the box selection tool to crop out a specific area of the image (around the top right hand corner), and I pressed ctrl+shift+X to crop out the image like I usually do, what ended up happening, was the area I had selected moved to the center of the image, and the center of the image was cropped out. If you guys would like me to post a video to better explain what I mean, I would be more than willing. EDIT: I know it seems weird, but the image I was trying to crop happened to be a printscreen of something I was watching in Windows Media Player. Try it.
  17. I'm not Andrew D... Although I can understand you getting me confused with him, I did make his avatar after all. Also, are you going to comment on the picture? Critique? Praise? Anything?
  18. All of the pictures he posted were hot. But I like Maelstrom the best. Anyway, I haven't posted here in ages, I just got around to getting the shape3D plugin last week. And I didn't bother using it until today. So here's my first attempt at shape 3D art.
  19. *blush* It is though. <3 It makes life that much easier, and your art that much awesome... er. And who would want to lasso select and gaussian blur the edges, every single time. Also, a few suggestions for the creator of this tutorial. First, if you want the black box to look more 3-dimensional and less jaggy, just draw a filled black rectangle, and use the layers > Rotate/zoom thing to twist the rectangle to make it look 3d. Second, As mentioned before, feather, feather, feather. And one last thing, when making the white border, just use a white dropshadow, with X=0 Y=0 and blur=1. Then just repeat until it's as thick as you like.
  20. This is a great tutorial. Also, agreed that you should feather everything. Feather has to be the single most useful and versatile effect in the history of PDN.
