Cycles (high values take time) Number of cycles to draw a fern. A random factor is used in the formula. Each calculation gives a different fern. Curvature Curvature factor of the fern. Zero for a straight stem. Population The bigger the population, the thicker the fern and vice versa. Left/Right Leaflet Adjust the left or right part of the foliage. Left/Right Leaflet Adjust the left or right part of the foliage. Length of the stem You could sometime need to change this value to make the stem continuous depending on the other parameters. Adjust Height Increase/Decrease the height of the fern. Dispersion Adjust the distance between dots. Size of the dot The dot is make with a surface, an outlining border (line) and a black shadow. You could change the size with this slider. Transparency Line/Surface/Shadow Adapt the transparencies of the elements of the dots to obtain relief, blending of the colors, etc. Set the value to zero to disactivate an element. Use palette of colors By default, the fern is drawn with green colors and brown for the sten. When checked, each dot use a color from the active palette. Square dot By default, a dot is a circle. You could choose to draw squares instead. AntiAlias Check this to use better quality. Switch left-right leaves If you need the first leaf to be on the left side then check this box. Examples Voilà! Once you set the parameters, they are used with the same values till you reset them (or when you quit paint.net). You just need to set the zoom amount to 0.

VS allows to -add a picture 200x150 to illustrate the effect -use multi language labels -use multi language keywords

Me too, but in the end I convert to VS for the plugin browser and the multi language capability.

The effect wasn't considering the alpha channel. Download it from the first post it should be better.

Add the bevel ellipse on a layer on the top of the list.

Thank you all for the feedback... @Pixey It sometimes happen I dream about some rendering but I never remember about them when I wake up... TTTT (to tell the truth) for this one the idea came from this post: I was not sure where to place the center. Ok not hard just few lines with the standard codelab Template. Hey, I could publish this as a new plugin. No, it too "basic" and "simple". Ok what could I bring to this to make it a bit more interesting ? = the center isn't always in the middle! Wow, this effect proposes now three centers!

Spot the center What's this? When you have selected an area with the ellipse tool, have you ever needed to find the center? So, you need this effect. Draw a dot or a + at the center. Center could be: -center of the canvas, -center of the selection, -center of the weighted selection (not dimension but number of pixels). Download it! Size of marker horizontal/vertical Choose 0 for a single dot. Default is 1 for a small cross. More than one to draw lines passing through the center. Link horizontal-vertical When checked you could use one slider to define the both horizontal-vertical. Steps Instead of a line, increase the steps to have multiple spots from the center. Color of the spot Default is the primary color, but you could change it on the fly. Transparency Value 255 means opaque (no transparency). Adjustment Once the center is known then you could adjust it +/- some pixels. The middle of 5 pixels is the third. □□□□□ The middle of 4 pixels isn’t a pixel… □□|□□ Spot Center Three modes are available: -Selection: the middle is half the width and half the height of the selection, -Canvas: the middle is half the width and half the height of the image regardless the selection, -Weight: each pixel of the selection is 1 unit of weight. The center is estimated with the average weight per line and per raw. Voilà! Enjoy!

In your example, the clock and the glass are colliding. You should avoid to merge the picture with such objects in the area of blending. ex:

Me love them... Glad you succeed with this effect. They are not so scary. You just have to play with the settings to produce something original. Brainstroming starts when you think you know the result and when you try to do it ...
