Nebulous fractal texture What's this? This effect was a bonus in the bottom list of my pack of plugins without its post till now. It’s originally a sample provided by Tom for the CodeLab. So, I wanted this to do a bit more than a single pattern, adding sliders, angle chooser etc. The effect uses a formula to fill the canvas with a colored pattern (rainbow colors). This is a texture plugin. It replaces the selection (or fill the active layer if no selection). Download it! Transparency mode Choose to have transparency based on darkest/lightest parts of the image, with soft (1) or hard (2) cut. I agree with @Ego Eram Reputo I own 8 plugins without thread. Mostly because they aren't essentials or that I'm not yet 100% satisfied with them. So I will not be offended if they aren't in the index (they are still in my pack list as bonus). But it's a work in progress. As example the Newton Fractal was one of these "homeless" plugins. And I make it really interesting (IMHO) enough to have its own thread. Same for AutoChrome and ExpandColor...

I would say other plugins could help to prepare this input pattern: Cutout Pixelate etc. and from this kind of model if you use paint.net (nearest neighbor) resize image to reduce from 320x320 to 32x32 and increase back to 320x320 you will have get ride of the grid (except right and bottom) then using the magic wand tool to select a color you could easily obtain the number of beads needed for this color. (a square is 10x10 for one bead = 100) if you select the salmon/rose color below the nose paint.net counts 200 pixels selected (so 2 beads). If this could help...

Newton Fractal texture What's this? This effect was a bonus in the bottom list of my pack of plugins without its post till now. My first version of this plugin was really basic compared to the possibilities of the formula and its parameters. This last version offers much more things to play with. This texture effect fills the image (replace the original). Trying to explain how it works (I admit I have some lacks in math), the formula uses squares, cubes, powers till 9 on a matrix. Parameters A, B, C and D are placed in the formula depending on each other. If a parameter doesn’t seem to work, it should be because another is set to zero (zero x whatever = 0, change any zero to 1 to test more parameters). Download it! Zoom The range is width to allow to zoom in detail. If your result is empty, you should be outside the object, try to zoom out and aim a part of the fractal, with horizontal/vertical pans. Horizontal / Vertical pans Move the focus point on the center of the canvas. Range of color Change the range of colors to use to draw the fractal. Factors A/B/C/D This is the tricky part to explain. Just play with the sliders… Exponent This is the main slider. Try low values 0 or 1 to have more regular angles. High values will give more torn angles. Depth This is to set the depth of details around the fractal. Background frequency The background is made with rainbow colored concentric circles. This is to set the frequency of these circles. Color angle Set your overall colors choice playing with this angle chooser. Alternate color function Use another formula for the color calculation. This could need higher values for factors A/B/C/D to give interesting results. Symmetry If checked the fractal is symmetrically drawn on a vertical centered axe. Hi @MrGreggles Add a new layer, fill it with grey A9A9A9. Press F4 for the top layer properties, set blend mode to screen. Merge the layers.
