  1. If i understand your question correct. Use or + Shift to make the selection. Then "Edit" and "Invert Selection" :InvertSelection: Then use fill :PaintBucketTool:
  2. The pdn file format is only used by Paint.NET. But Paint.NET can save and open psd file format by use of this plugin: https://forums.getpaint.net/topic/18128-photoshop-psd-file-plugin/
  3. Try this: viewtopic.php?f=38&t=27088&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&hilit=abr
  4. Perfectly right. And, this also is the case if you want to fill something with the “color” transparent. (Removing all colors) I have found it quite practical to have transparent in my color pallet. But if you do this, remember that the eraser doesn’t work if the color is set to transparent.
  5. I can’t quite figure out what the problem is. But I think about two things. First; try to use layers. Put your speech bobble in a new layer. And if necessary a third layer for the text. And then use “merge layer down.” And if you want to select the inside of the bobble use the”Magic wand.” Speech bubbles CAN be made with Paint.NET. I have done it several times. What I do is first draw an oval (or whatever) then I draw the arrow pointing to the speaking figure. Erase the part of the oval that is connected to the arrow. Fill in white. Send it to another guy that puts in text.
  6. Try again later. It worked for me right now. Maybe a bit or a byte got stuck along the way. And welcome to the forum.
  7. Plug ins are made by many deferent people. Sometimes they don’t think alike when talking about where to put what. You are right that it is sometimes a bit confusing. I believe Rick is thinking about doing something about it for some future release of Paint.NET. But as usual no ETA. So we all have to live with the problem for a while.
  8. I think i recognize several of the effects you have used. But it is very well done. I especially like the first one. Keep up the good work. But if you want to keep posting in this topic i recommend changing the topic title to something containing your name.
  9. The "Search" function is your friend. viewtopic.php?f=16&t=1238&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&hilit=psd
  10. Myrddin uses a transparent background in his avarter. You can make that by making a new layer and then deleting or “turning off” the whit layer below. Then do your drawing. If you want to use an existing drawing you have to remover whatever you want transparent. You can simply use the eraser or one of the selection tools :LassoTool: and just delete it. Flatten and save in a file format that supports transparency. PNG is fine. Use a more describing text in your topic title. And don’t use all capital letters in your topic title: it is considered shouting and rude. viewtopic.php?f=20&t=3446 #3 and #6 Then, be sure to save as PNG format.
  11. The source code is no longer available. But you can write plugins like the once in the links i mentioned.
  12. viewtopic.php?f=16&t=25303 Or install Artweaver and use this: viewtopic.php?f=16&t=27899
  13. I think someone said something about this not being a Tec support forum. And be careful about posting e-mail addresses so openly. Or replying to unknown e-mail addresses. Spammers, you know. But anyway. The code? Do you think about the file type? Or what? And where do you want to upload it?
  14. Paint.NET doesn’t have a”spray” brush. But Simon Brown just made a handy plug in that makes it easy to move a layer to another program, and back. viewtopic.php?f=16&t=27899 And then there is the custom brush plug in. viewtopic.php?f=16&t=23093&hilit=custom+brush
  15. It just means that no other drawing, or image manipulation program then paint.NET has been used.
  16. Thank you. This is awesome. This will make it allot easier to jump between programs. Now I “just” have to figure out how to use Artweaver.
  17. >>stained glass window?<< There is an effect called ”Frosted glass” Actually there are two versions of it, so one of them is probably in some plug in. Try to search for it.
  18. Nothing to do with Microsoft. There has been some trouble with a few people who used the source code to make a slightly altered version of Paint.NET; and tried to charge money for it. viewtopic.php?f=12&t=27233&p=223882&hilit=source+code#p223882
  19. If you can copy the picture to the clipboard. Yes. Or you can open several pictures in Paint.NET and copy; paste from one to another.
  20. Layer --> Import from file... Or you can; copy --> paste.
  21. :?: The white doted lines in the seconde picture, in the first post? Use one of the select tools. :LassoTool:
  22. Wise words pyrochild. Don’t try to do everything at the same time. I am very great full for your work, but if you have school work, we just have to wait.
  23. Welcome to the forum westsidehomes. First of all I must tell you that your topic title is too generic. That is something you can read about in the written rules. viewtopic.php?f=20&t=3446 # 6 Please change your topic title to something describing your problem, or your topic will probably be locked. That is in the unwritten rules. As for your picture try this: Make a new layer over the one your picture is in. As default it will be transparent. In that layer draw some yellow lines. Then blur the entire layer with some strong amount. Do some experimenting with amount and blur type. When you are satisfied, you may use the eraser to remove the parts where the blur gets in the way for your picture. If the erasing turns out to be aproblem you may use this: viewtopic.php?f=34&t=26967
  24. There is a skin tonepallet here that may help. viewtopic.php?f=16&t=22710 If not, try to search for skin tone.
  25. Just did what david.atwell recommended. It accord to me; since the dotnet framework is so much linked to Paint.NET. Would it be a good idea to make a little feature in the help menu, that checked, and reported, what dotnet versions is installed on my computer? And displayed a link to any recommended update? Just a sugestion to the code guys. :?
