  1. Oh! Look at this! I've been away for months and I'm still being talked about! I've been gone for some time now but since then I have gotten accepted into an academy for digital art and I'd just like to thank everyone on these forums because if it wasn't for you guys being so supportive and being such great inspirations to me I would have never gotten here. So, thankyou! But to keep on topic.. (sorry Rick ) Nice images here, everyone has definatly been improving! I must get back into some PDN stuff soon! ~13_15_4_14_1_18
  2. Hey guys.. I haven't posted here in a long time. So many new people which is good to see. I had a play around in PDN this afternoon, with this as the result: I know the symbol barely stands out but it was the idea of having it duplicated & glowing that I liked.
  3. Well, I think it's been long enough to do the second lot of people. Chris
  4. Ha yeah I have firefox.. but it's easy once you can remember.. 13 15 4 14 1 18 I can actually write fluently in that code.. 2.5518 1.91.5 2.3812.0 11.85 2.51.52.1 41.591.47 1.212.051.8? Oh by the way, when there's a dot between two numbers it means they are together.. so like 1.91 is "19" and "1". Of course there a few letters I can never remember, like L and J.. lol
  5. I was halfway through making a selection (still holding in Left mouse button) when the updater window popped up, I clicked "Close" and let go of the left mouse button to finish my selection, but nothing happened. It seems when you are halfway through making a selection and a new window opens the selection wont end but just continue following your cursor. You can test this by holding the LMB and dragging a selection, without letting go, and with your keyboard opening "About" under the "Help" menu. Click "OK" and try and finish the selection. You can click both mouse buttons together and it will complete, but still.. you get the idea. -Chris
  6. Yeah it's abstract. I could easily make it again because I remember what I did to get it. Maybe a tutorial for making an abstract ocean scene? Or I could just get the sea floor and blue tint in the tutorial so people can be more creative.. Would you guys like to see either of those?
  7. Cool @ everyone New pic, roughly based on the ocean. I liked the way the Seafloor turned out, it started out just as a grid.
  8. This topic could go on forever with software wars. I have photoshop, I have Paint.NET and GIMP too. I don't think choosing one is the best approach. Each has its strengths and weaknesses. There's no need to fight about them.. I probably sound like some politician but this seems to be happening more and more. Think of each program as a different medium for a painting/drawing. They are more suitable in certain situations. It shouldn't be a matter of "I have this now, so I have to get rid of what I used to have". Sorry for wasting your time if you read this far.. just needed to get that out.
  9. Poor BigBadWolf posted his images in the middle of a bit of a conflict. I like them, especially the simple orange one!
  10. Why would having an old computer make you want to test Paint.NET?
  11. I agree about the effect previews thing, but I think when a layer is invisible it shouldn't show on the thumbnail, I feel the thumbnail should be what the image would look like if you saved it right then. Just my opinion
  12. I think you'll find them to be the exact same colour.. well I drew two filled rectangles, one with 202020 and one with 1E1E1E, and they were both the same. Also, if you change your Hex to 202020 and draw a filled rect, then use the eyedropper.. it's 1E1E1E. Maybe it's an automatic conversion or something like that. It doesn't really matter though because they're the same color.
  13. Ahh the glories of 3d modelling... You can create some pretty cool textures with PDN.
  14. Yeah, but it's not anti-aliasing. I don't know what it's called in other programs.. I only know Photoshop.
  15. It does? Maybe I just don't know what antialiasing is, but in PhotoPlus when you select something it selects a certain amount of pixels around it also, it's good for cropping images with the lasso tool. What you are talking about is called "feathering" in Photoshop.
  16. I'm sure something similiar to that could be re-created!
