I copied a simple math formula from MathType and tried to paste onto the layer on a newly opened Paint.Net v.3 session. First of all, the ctrl + v does not do it. The paste option on the Edit menu greyed out. And a message like, "there is nothing in the clipboard!" While Paint.Net had that, the MSWord blank page pasted the formula normally with either ctrl + v or paste command. How do I tackle with it? Thank you for your kind help.

When the help says we can copy and paste from whatever the clipboard has it is simply not true. While my MS paint can let me paste from the clipboard, the Paint.net will not. The copy, paste commands in the menu are all grayed out - deactivated! Why is that?
