Another feature that was requested before (at least by me ) was the ability to choose different line endings (arrows, round ends, etc...).

Hi,
I tested Paint.NET today and it's a nice tool. The only thing I missed was selecting different line endings (e.g. to create one or two sided arrows).
BTW: It loads quite fast compared to other .NET applications. How did you do that?

AFAIK:
Tolerance low = Very sensitive border detection
Tolerance high = Insensitive border detection
IOW: The higher the tolerance, the more should be selected.
This means (at least to me *g*) that the implementation of the "tolerance" slider in PDN is correct.
