Sockface

It is PNG. And it's on Photobucket.

I want to upload a picture onto the Internet so the background is transparent. To do this, I select the white with the Magic Wand tool and remove it, thus revealing the checkerboard pattern underneath. However when I upload it to the Internet the checkerboard areas aren't transparent at all, but blue.
