  1. That is pretty entertaining, Rick! I love the status bar...especially the "!!!1" Crazy Man Dan, I basically used the Magic Wand method. Instead of Fill to fill in the selected ares, I used the Brush at a width of 100. With the fill tool, it would not fill in all of the selected area unless the tolerance were raised (in which case I would have to lower it again for the next selection). Also, Dan, The skin looks nice, but my old CRT monitor doesn't get bright enough to see the details on the eye shape (same for the wallpaper versions). When looking at your backgrounds, I had to move them to Paint.NET and raise the contrast (and guess where you designed it to be). I'm just bringing this up because some others might have the same issue with monitor brightness.
  2. I've spent a bit of time yesterday and today on this: I used the same method I did on the car. I know the overall style is soooo 1997, but I couldn't resist...you know what I mean if you have a dog.
  3. Very cool! I've been wondering what CodeLab was. I still don't have Visual Studio installed...school is very busy. To compile the code with this plugin, does Visual Studio or another compiler need to be installed or is the compiler built-in? Thanks for the post! I'm all hyped up about writing plugins now! *starts installing Visual Studio* -John
  4. Lol that looks like Chuck Norris with needles... Anyone know any Chuck Norris "facts" about needles? I'm glad to hear that I've promoted your fontmania, guys. The images are looking good from everyone! I don't have the energy or inspiration to make backgrounds, and especially not to make those cool comic drawings. However, I am working on some more simple stuff...
  5. The brush tool has an overall strange behaviour. The way it is operating on my machines is rather strange and produces annoying results when the transparency of color is anything less than fully opaque. The Clone Stamp tool produces much nicer results. Perhaps this is how the brush is supposed to act?
  6. I have noticed that when I set the primary color to have a transparency of 1, no matter how much I color over the same spot with the brush, the color at this spot never becomes fully opaque or saturated. However, if I simply raise transparency to 2 (or anything higher), I can color over one spot and eventually it will become fully opaque.
  7. Font name: "Crown Title" If you cannot find it, I can send it to you.
  8. Oh...if you want to simply make a collage or something, you can just use copy/paste like bob says. I made a collage a couple of weeks ago. Putting each image on its own layer makes it easy to move images around to how you like it.
  9. I can't access the website right now, but I think I got it at http://www.dafont.com/ aatwo, those are nice drawings! Have you considered drawing a web comic? (I know I'm not the first person to mention it). You can get other people to write the scripts. Four nipples is crazy (especially when it's almost as amazing as that avatar).
  10. Open one of the images. Click "Layers->Import From File". Find your other image, and open it. Now the second image is on its own layer. Click on the checkbox next to the second image to temporarily hide it. In the layers window at the bottom right, click on the image you want to clone FROM. Click on the Clone tool, and pick the area you want to copy from. Click that checkbox on the "copy to" layer to unhide it. Now, in the layers window again, click on the image you want to copy TO. Make sure the Clone tool is active, and now click and/or drag the tool around where you want to clone TO. Once you are satisfied, delete the layer that has the image you wanted to copy FROM, and you will be left with the modified image. Just save this to your computer, and you're done!
  11. Lol I'm not even sure. I just did a yahoo image search for "supra" and used one that looked nice...it may or may not be a Supra.
  12. I was just playing around with this look. It seems to be a popular thing to do to a picture of a hot car.
  13. Palette editing is not yet a feature of Paint.net. Of course, you could always do it manually by editing each pixel to match a palette. This would be a good thing for a plugin...once I get to coding, I will try to make a plugin for this.
  14. What file format are you using, bender? If you're saving as .gif, there is a loss of color information that could cause colors to "blend" together. Also, if you're saving as a .jpg, you might have the compression setting too low. When saving, and the dialog pops up with the preview on the right, move the slider on the left to 100%.
  15. The same ideas in the Glass Orb tutorial may be applied to glass boxes. http://paintdotnet.12.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=620 Also see the gradients topic...gradients are good for horizontal and rectangular glossy items: http://paintdotnet.12.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=1013 The gradients from the latter of the two links can be placed on a layer above what you want glossy and then you can reduce the transparency of the gradient layer so that the stuff underneath shows through. Play around with the different methods until you get the style you like.
  16. You can perform a global Magic Wand select by holding Shift while using the Magic Wand Select tool. Click on the Magic Wand tool, then hold Shift. Then, click on a white area to select all of the white in the image. You might want to adjust the "Tolerance" bar to select either more or less of off-whites and greys in your image. Then, delete what you have selected by pressing "Delete" on your keyboard.
  17. Yeah I know...I was just joking around.
  18. Or the ability to choose how many "nubs" or handles you want, with an "Automatic" option that would choose this by length, like you suggested, BuzzKill. Having it always choose by length would be troublesome when working at different resolutions.
  19. To add to a selection, hold down Control while selecting...it won't take away from what you already have selected. I think that's what you're talking about, at least.
  20. Rick, that's because you always play 1st person. If the game allowed you to go into 3rd person mode, you'd see that Gordon is really a superhero.
  21. LOL Nice drawing! I do like it! It easily applies to HL 1 as well... Those headcrabs...
  22. Good...you scared me for a few seconds, there. 8)
  23. Joking about both or just the second one?
  24. Yay! Sounds like fun! You know we all want to help...just let us know if there is anything we can do.
  25. Masu, this only has use (as far as I can see) for MDI-type applications. Paint.net will (as far as we know) soon (relatively) have multiple-document functionality, and then there will be a "Close Current Image" option.
