  1. Dan, yes, that's exactly what I trying to describe. I've done a little more experimenting with how P.N's auto-scroller will react when you have the window at different sizes and at different zoom levals, and I think I've found a way to reproduce the bug. 1: Make a new 500 x 50 image 2: Maximize the P.N window 3: Zoom in 400x 4: Draw/select with the rectangle selection tool to the right. P.N's auto-scroll moves very slowly. 5: Zoom in 800x or higher 6: Draw/select with the rectangle selection tool to the right once more. P.N's auto-scroll doesn't move at all this time. If P.N's window is NOT maximized, and if you move your mouse OUTSIDE the right border of the window while drawing or selecting a rectangle, P.N will auto-scroll just fine. The problem only occurs when the window is maximized, and you go to the far-right border of your screen. I'm not sure if my screen resolution might be adding to the problem or not, but if it helps at all, I'm at 1024x768. ( ;; )
  2. I know it's probably way to late to late to fix such a minor glitch like this for the final release of version 2.5, but...oh well, I thought I'd post it anyway. Maybe it'll make the next version: In version 2.5 RC1, when you zoom in on an image that is wider than it is high, (so that, even when you zoom in, only the horizontal scroll bar exists,) when you draw a rectangle or try to select pixels from left to right, it does not auto-scroll to the right like it used to. It works fine when drawing or selecting from right to left, or when moving vertically. The only time it seems to auto-scroll from left to right correctly, is if the vertical scroll bar exists as well as the horizontal one.
  3. Yeah, I noticed that inverting the image switched the quality back and fourth on both sides...I was just wondering why they looked different if all that was done to the image was an invert...I guess it must be more of an optical illusion than anything else. Your tip about resizing of the text seems to work pretty good, though if I ever need to make large, perfectionist-quality text, I think I'll stick to typing it using v2.1b, and then copying it over to my main document in v2.5 b5. You're right; when it comes to large text, GDI+ renders it very well. I guess I got spoiled when it comes to large text quality, as buggy as GDI+ is when it comes to smaller text. Hey, what if you created an option that would allow the user to switch between using GDI and GDI+ to render text? That is, if it's even possible, or doesn't bloat the program, or take to long to do... Just a thought... 8) In any case, even if such a feature were to be implemented, it probably won't happen in time for this next release...but I still think it would be neat if it were even a possibility for a future release... ...eh, just rambling.
  4. Glad I could be of help. :o Also am very glad to hear that it was an easy fix! Thanks!
  5. I noticed that, in Windows XP, when you press the CTRL + SHIFT + S shortcut to "Save As" a Paint.NET document, if you're in the My Pictures folder, (or any folder with the view set to Thumbnails,) the file and folder names disappear from underneath the thumbnails. They don't come back unless you close the save window, and manually go up and click File, and then click Save As. Would I be correct in assuming that this is because of a slight conflict with Explorer's ability to hide thumbnail text? (If you hold Shift, and double click a folder that has its view set to "thumbnails" Explorer will hide the file names...personally I think this a dumb feature...but oh well... ) Anyway, I guess I can click "File > Save As" to avoid this annoying problem. But I think it would be excellent if it was possible to fix this, so that it could be easily accessed through the keyboard without the worry of file names playing hide and seek.
  6. I made this image in Paint.NET just now...I think it kinda speaks for itself... White/Black Text Comparison I was trying to create a site banner with white text when I noticed it looked a bit grainy around the edges... Call me picky, but I don't remember Paint.NET doing this to white text before...
