I want to keep the man's face. Basically I'll have the smiley face's opacity lowered so you can see both images.

@Pixey The smiley faced image was just a random image I used for context. So basically do you want me to manually conform the smiley face? I was thinking of the smiley face only showing in the lasso part kind of like when you have an erased section and you put an image on the layer below it.

I'm trying to put a transparent picture over a picture and I already have the lasso made but whenever I try it just goes over it. I tried doing this on background and on Layer 1. https://imgur.com/a/Hn71OBq
