Here is one way:

 

1.  Pick a woven fabric you want on its own layer.

2.  Type the text on another layer.

3.  Select the text with the magic wand set on global, then invert the selection.

4.  Switch to the fabric layer and hit delete.

5.  Deselect the text layer and use AA's Assistant on the resulting woven text.

This one. The plugins and your tutorial worked great, but seemed the fastest way and looked like a good way to do it.

I'm wondering how you make text woven. I've figured out how to pick a color from the picture and put it in text, but I don't know how to make it woven.
