    Hey BoltBait. I am trying to let Paint>net know my Paint.Net just now stopped working. It will not now let me change size and other  numbers for my pictures. It has never done this before. I think I have 5.0.6 PDN. I tried to find the correct page to address this but could not find it. So I am contacting you. Sorry to be a bother.

      well I deleted the PDN 5.01 and tried to install a newer version. It uninstalled the old but could not install the new? I wish I was a s smart as you guys. I am Sorry BoltBait. I do not know what to do.

    HiRed ochre,

     I need to know what virus protection I can use on my computer and Android phone. Norton has raised my charges again. S.S. has cut out 200.00 monthly from my S.S. So I am doing what ever I can to cut  down some charges. Can you Help me with advise? Sorry to bother you.

      If you are using windows 10 or 11 then you don't need to pay for a separate virus protection program - just use the built-in Windows Defender.

      If you are still using windows 8 you should be able to update to windows 10, then use Defender.

       

      I wouldn't use Norton at all... very bad software and a waste of money in my opinion.

       

      I cannot advise you on what to use for your Android phone... I don't have one (can't afford one!).

      Probably best to ask on an Android forum?

      how do I find this Windows Defender? I think I now Have Windows 10 or 11.My Paint.net has stopped working today while I was on it. Trying to resize and resolutions  for my pictures. It just stopped working(?). I was PDN 5.0.3 uninstalled it and reinstalled it. It still will not work It has never done this before. I could not even get a crash  document to  upload here. I contacted Bolt & Peggy. nothithing from them yet.... saddly once again I need you all's help. Sorry.

      well now I tried to open the Paint>net  on top right corner "?" and a message came and said Sorry  Your computer is no longer supported by Windows Explorer?  I just had my computer updated by a Professional Computer geek I know well & trust a friend as well. This is his Profession. I will contact him also concerning this. I need serios help  here. Thanks you guys.

    ok. I coped the note Red ochre how to find the plugins. As of right now everything seems to be working well(?) Have no idea why or how. You guys are wonderfully smart & kind & helpful. I cannot express how much I appreciate you both.

    Oookay.... but I have no idea what you mean by "It's just possible that you are thining of this browser" Is this a bad thing? Some kind of error I am doing? Am I in trouble with forum?🤔

    Ok got it. So if i sign into the " Paint.NET forum do I type in search Paint>NET Plugin Index and it will take me to this plugin list / download? and thank you for the help...getting old is challenging (LOL)

    It looks different. I tried clicking on one to see if it would download but it would not. The Page was where you could look up individual plug ins and down load them individually, also some of the creators plugin paks and install apps would be listed there also. Thanks for looking for it. I cannot remember how I found it in the past

    I had downloaded that early today and just kept getting error message and it would not work or save the design in my paint.net. So I deleted it. I am not as smart as you all are here. I do not understand the folder making to make this down load work? Sorry I would like to get it into my blurs. But its difficult for me. Thanks for your help. I apricated it. I really need the native FRagment Blur. and the download link.

    Pixey, you and Red ocher are the best. The Blurs you mentioned are in my Paint.Net effects in Blur. the fragment blur is ok but I really Use the old version Fragment Blur its the best one in my opinion, and the older version Point Blur ( I really hate the "New Point Blur". Thank you for the link & your help. Where can I find that " Effect Plugin list" where is names the creator and the name of the Plug-in? I saved it but it must have gotten lost when I had my computer repaired. If you know what I am asking about and you have the link Would you mind getting that link yo me please? No hurry Thanks .your a Peach🙂

    Hey can any one help me with this problem? I love and use " Fragment Blur " Often. Now it vanished out of my effects? How I have no idea. Then today this afternoon a different " Fragment Control " was now in my Blur effects & I never downloaded it , shoot I cannot even find my Cherished Fragment Blur"! to re download it!😡 I am now using PDT.NET version 5.0.8. which I was using 2 or 3 ago version 5.0.3. I think Red ocher was right about the NortonLife lock could be the part of the problem. But how can effects that are downloaded disappear and strang news one appear that I have not downloaded or installed?? I am using Windows 10 Microsoft. This is so frustrating. Also can someone give me the Plugin down load page? I cannot find it. Broken Fragments! ME

    Hi Red ochre. Have not been on here in a long time. Reason I am today. It seems every time PDN does a " Update" I loose plugins. Why ?  I Hate updates! If updates are a good thing  then I would not loose the plug ins I have down loaded., It is very frustrating. I am trying to find the older version of " Point Blur". Can you help me find the plugin page for downloads? I tried but just keep getting the " Forum Page.

      well it happened again since this afternoon now there is a " Fragment Control "  which I did not know even existed. and I cannot find the Fragment Blur plugin anywhere. I know there is some sort og Plugin page where one can easily down load the effects  and Adjustment plugins. I have searched and cannot find it. Can you give me the link to that plugin download page Please? Also if I remove Paint.Net app and download and older version will I loose all other of my Plugins?

      on the Plug in Errors it says today :  Error / PSFilter Pdn.dll version 1_0_5_7.

      I tried downloading from effects I have not installed thinking this was my Fragment blur. it was not. I deleted it from effects . It did not work I tried it before I deleted it.

      Now I did the diagnostic tool and pasted it to the clipboard... however  how do I get it pasted to my troubleshooting page?

      I am sorry to be such a pain of Paint.Net to you all.

      ok I got one thing fixed  changing the size & Resolution numbers. I also went into the corner app and clicked on PDN. auto update. Should that help?

    BoltBait, link me to the Plugin you made that has  all the shapes, Dream ,Dragon and that you had me install the first time. I lost everything except the originals effects & Adjustments. which pak  has all your new stuff? and how can I extract them into c -paint,net-effects ? my extracter is not working? I am so confussed

      its okay now- I am using it everyday! However who created the first " Ink Sketch"? I like the first version and cannot seem to find it, Yet I want to keep the New version as well. Need a little help from my friends🙂

      I wrote the first version of Ink Sketch.

       

      However, it is now built-in to Paint.NET and is therefore maintained by Rick Brewster himself.

       

      It looks the same as it always has since I first wrote it and it was first included in Paint.NET.

       

      Look under the Effects > Artistic menu.

    Hey Bolt , I hope you are safe in California( weather is all over the news). Thnks for helping me get your  New Plugin Pak  uploaded to my Paint.net. It is working well. But I really need your first Dream effect, I use it all the time for my Creative Art Projects. Please tell me how to get it and installed  while keeping the new version also. Thank you.

    Bolt, I did download it. But It did not work. I was using 4.12 paint.net was very happy with that. I could not find it to download again. I have lost dragon,dream,Tr;s Fireworks, and countless other plug in. In my Paint.net, the icon will not open to take me to the forum. That has not worked for 2 years now(?) the automatic upgrade for paint 5..... caused me to loose many effects & Adjustments. I am not a wiz like you all are. This is hard for me every time there is a new version of Paint.net!

    I hate it! This version wipes out all my hard work downloading effects and Adjustments!I lost so many of the effects Dream ,which I use a lot, and many others. I just want 4.12 version or less Automatic updates are a wreck

    I downloaded over a year ago a plugin for effects, / text formation 3D that allowed multiple chose textures like Chrome,Diamnon,Hammered cenment,wood, and so on. Well something happened to my PC and I lost many of my favorites plugins, like dragon effect, Smooth blur, Trs Fireworks and a few others. Some I have re-dounloaded. but this text formation one I cannot find. and I believe when I first saw it here BoltBait was saying this was a really good & must have plugin. He sold me on it and He was 100% correct. It is a very good & used a lot plugin by me. So if anyone here knows where I can find it please let me know. Sadly I cannot recall it name sake or the maker, I am wondering if BoltBait is the designer.? I really gotta have this plugin back into my Paint.net. Thanks Paint.Net . Carol
