Croydonian

Hi People. This is probably a silly question, Is it possible to constrain the eraser to straight lines so that a diagram/drawing could have a piece inserted into it? I thought maybe Ctrl and or Shift might steady it up for me, but no. Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks
