Just back to my computer and checked out your suggestions!! I didn't find anything about 'layers'. On my blank canvas I need to write the Title, etc. When I press the 'layers' button, I get a small square quoting 'layer 2' and it's chequered and I haven't the faintest idea how to enlarge the chequered box or how to fit it to my 'Cover blank' or to type on to the chequered area. Stumped.

I am trying to create a book cover for Smashwords.com. I have adjusted the cover size; but now I need to type on the title of the book and the authors name. How do I do this? I am the author!
