No, not lag. I was moving my mouse very slowly and I built my pc, its strong. The canvas size wasn't that big and the image i was resizing wasn't the most high quality thing ever. No viruses and no other programs besides Google Chrome open Latest version (checking for beta versions is checked) (paint.net 4.2.14)

Nono, only get it from https://www.getpaint.net/ if that website isn't collaborating with Rick, its probably a virus I recommend to uninstall the other one

I open mine with PDN and i see file types normally?

You can see the original is mode jagged, so you could also try selecting with the ellipse tool, then use TR's cloud control Your choice though, it might just be because of a bad quality picture. Cloud control result:

@TylerYoshiCould you show a GIF or video of it (show us you on the paintbrush tool, switching to color picker, and then it going to a random tool) (use a video hosting site like streamable or vimeo)

How about code that checks if the layer is 100% transparent, if it isn't, it will have an error saying "You seem to have a background that isn't transparent, this plugin will erase this background if you do not create a new layer" or something among those lines. You will have the choices "Ok" which closes the error and pretends nothing just happened, and "Run anyway" which will erase the background and create the text anyway even though it warned you (run anyway option is there in case you were on the starting white background)

I hate to compare MS Paint to paint.net but.. MS Paint has custom brushes built-in like watercolor brushes/crayon As of now, paint.net only has paintbrush and pencil. Thats it. I'm not asking for a plugin though, im asking why not implement this into the main program? Also, why not a custom colors, paint.net has this, but it doesn't make it so you can make the color, then put it into the pallete without changing the actual text file. If you don't know what im talking about, check this video
