1. Thank you @ReMake - yes I am a font maniac. Was going to do "one font only", then added a few and could not resist...
2. @Pat B, I would recommend you ColorBalance+ and Color Mixer. Do you know how to install plugins? Download zip. Copy the .dll file you find inside (dpyColorBalance.dll and ColorMixer.dll) and put it into your Effects folder (Program Files > paint.net > Effects). Restart Paint.net and they will show up in Adjustments menu. As for too many images. You can open one and reduce blue - then open 10 or 20 more and apply the same effect - one by one, closing them after that. Open next 10-20 and repeat. Just do not close Paint.net until you finish so the effects will not reset. When you find the right proportion of colors, you'll need about 15 minutes. With BW photos it would be even simpler but I suppose yours are not BW.
3. These plugins (both AAA and Edge Fader) work only if your object is on a separate layer with transparent background. That is the principle. Add new layer > Draw your object (planet or whatever) > Run AAA (2-3 times if one is not enough). 👇 Only after that you can flatten the image. Remember, if you draw your objects on the same background they are not "objects". They become part of the picture the moment you finish the line. And you cannot do anything to them separately. New layer is your friend. As long as your "object" (text, rabbit, planet etc.) is on a separate layer, you can apply as many changes as you want without influencing the rest of the image. 👩‍🎓
4. Welcome to the club! I really like the snowy signature and the polar bear picture is wonderful (there is something catching and touching about it). A noob that has just won the Autumn competition sharing the 1st place with Lynx Da Beast! Keep learning and trying, creating and updating. PS. May I say it - check these two plugins: AA's Assistant from @dpy's pack and Edge Fader Extreme by @TechnoRobbo. Both are super useful for smoothing object edges of all kinds.
5. Congratulations! All entries were bright and cool - like Autumn itself. 🍁🍂 Good to see some legendary names back. Good to see new talent (super). And, of course - the class shown again by the classy. Thanks for hosting @lynxster4.
6. Thanks Lynx! Look forward to yours. 😘
7. Thank you @barbieq25 ! I haven't played with big images for a while, almost forgot the joy of making them.
8. Technical Update! I decided to try the method of @Djisves and replace the thumbnails with clickable pictures - thank you! Here is how they look now: Space Sheep
9. Thank you @ReMake, @Drydareelin and @Ladybug. 'Space' topic is a gift that keeps on giving. A little tip: do as @Drydareelin says in the Gas Giant tutorial (Radial Blur trick) and duplicate that layer several times. Then merge them down to get one cool ring. 🌌 This is what I do for better results.
10. Oh, I had no idea. Rarely used that option recently. @Pixey, thank you but I am not the biggest fan of Imgur - would rather keep my PostImage account. I figured it out how to get clickable, working "thumbs" from there... so if anyone needs: 1. Open the PostImage gallery with the picture you want. Right click > Page Info > Media tab (if you're on Firefox) - find the thumbnail on the list (180 x 120 or so) and copy its url. 2. Insert it into your post. You'll have a small picture. Highlight it and use the editor - Link. Add the hyperlink from under the PostImage Share button (actual "Link" or "Direct Link"). It will make the thumbnail clickable, for example: I did so with my latest gallery update. The actual sized images looked great but it took forever to load the page so... Think this case is closed, thanks again.
11. Hi everyone, a weird thing has happened. I was updating my gallery and the images were much bigger than 800x800. So I wanted to use "Thumbnail for Forum" from PostImage but they were not showing as thumbnails. I tried several times - never had that issue in the past. Finally I had to use "Direct Link". Works fine but how about the Size Rule violation? Are we allowed to have large images embedded now? They don't load fast, to be honest. And what's wrong with the thumbnails? I thought the preview was broken but no. All I got in the post was a text like this: Anyone else having this problem? Is there any specific code we got to use instead of the PostImage code? UPDATE 1. Right now I cheated - found PostImage thumbnail urls in Firefox (Page Info) and inserted them into my post, then highlighted each picture and added a link (editor "Link" button). It looks like this: However, it was still annoying to do 6 times for 6 images. So I wonder what it is - our forum issue or PostImage bug. (If the latter, I'll try to contact their support team.) Funny, my previous posts with thumbnails are displaying them with no problem...
12. Thanks for the reps @Red ochre and @LionsDragon! And now... SPACE SHEEP Since I'm out of entries already, let's continue here. The pictures are clickable now! The originals are bigger - and, may I say, worthy of Zoom/Full screen... 😉 How High The Moon Bathing Planet Honey Gold Fantasy Mix The Future Space Sheep Thanks for your visit. Come back for more.
13. Hi @Fiz, Out of curiosity I tried to achieve the effect you want with your image. This is what I got: And this is how I got it: 1. Open your file (as it is). 2. Image > Canvas Size > Width = 1200 Height = 1200 Anchor = Middle (so you get a 1200x1200 pic). 3. Run the plugin: 4. Add new layer > Paint Bucket = White. 5. Merge that layer down (so it becomes the white background for the Music spiral). Play with the plugin options - it is possible. Mine is only a rough attempt. Good luck. 🎵
14. Good hunting, you busy beast. Thank you @barbieq25! 🌹 I'm pleased that the Three Queens of PDN all liked 'Queen of Spades'.
15. Yeah, flocking together. Thank you @Pixey! @ReMake and @lynxster4 - thanks for the reps!
16. BIRDS Some photo manipulation - different styles and effects, all united by the topic. Owl Power Snow White Angry Geek Impressionism Monday Bird Bad Choice Queen Of Spades Natural Mosaic Time Flies Sketchy Bird Survival Thanks for your visit. Fly safe. 💜🦉🐦
17. 1. Select your planet. 2. Add new Layer. 3. Effects > Render > Random Shape Fill (from this pack). Shape = Circles, Number and Size = up to you, Fill Color = Primary, Outline Color = None. 4. Effect > Distort > Dents (Refraction about 2-3) to slightly change their shape. 5. Gaussian Blur = 2. 6. Effects > Object > Bevel Object (Depth 2-3, uncheck "Keep original image"). 7. Adjustments > Invert colors. You can adjust their opacity (Layers properties menu) and add some form (Effects > Distort > Bulge 10-20) if necessary.
18. Dear Boss of the Objects - @Pixey - History knows examples when we were allowed to use black instead of transparent. ("Flames", to name one.) 😏 What do you think about Planet or Moon on the simple black background? Formally breaking the rule would make our entries look more expressive and authentic... Of course, if not -- then not and no problem (and best wishes to you anyway). Just my two cents. 💜 PS. Absolutely love the topic!
19. 'Little Mexico' looks like a summit of little butterflies to me. 'Orange Prolifica' = visual nectar (ambrosia?) and 'Purple Heart' is a picture to enter and touch the cobweb and enjoy the scent. A mesmerizing garden you have over there!
