  1. For all the years I've used both Paint.net and BitDefender, this is the first time I've come across this, and with so many repositories in Github compromised, I'm keeping my current installation of Paint.net and turning off automatic updates. I'll see how things are with the next announced update.
  2. I downloaded paint.net.5.0.7.install.x64.zip from Github, extracted the installer, launched it, and Bitdefender instantly flagged it. Couldn't install it. Edit: Right-clicking the file to scan with Bitdefender didn't reveal anything. It only occurs upon launch. This is what Bitdefender is reporting: The file C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Temp\7zS40E88D5D\SetupShim.exe is infected with Gen:Variant.Tedy.388183 and was moved to quarantine. It is recommended that you run a System Scan to make sure your system is clean.
  3. For this Sims4 recolor, on at least some of the pianos, I applied Red Ochure's Psychocolour filter. The resulting gradients aren't anywhere near as smooth as I'd like, but these pianos have garnered over 6,200 downloads on ModTheSims.Com so somebody apparently doesn't mind.
  4. One of my most popular Sims4 recolors. Original on the left.
  5. Another Sims4 recolor implemented in Paint.net (original on the left):
  6. I make mods for Sims4, many of them recolors of existing objects. On the left is the original object provided by the game, on the right is my recolor of it in Paint.net
  7. First image is the original, my mother & aunt with the men. Both of the men have long since left my mom and aunt's lives, so my mother asked me to redo the photograph without them. I adjusted the positioning of my aunt (standing) and my mother (sitting) and then added a new background. All paint.net. original update
  8. On-canvas warping via a brush (or a resizable/intensity settable shape like on Krita) would be nice.
  9. Despite the rough response I've every intention of continuing to promote Paint.net. I'm on a fixed income, enough said about that, but I do credit Paint.net for all of my mods where I've used it. It's an excellent product and I mention as much in many places. ModTheSims NexusMods Sims4Studio
  10. Wasn't expecting hostility for a reply. The more helpful reply would have been that if you're experiencing installation issues from any anti-viral product for the web-based download that there is a downloadable offline installer on Github, which I eventually found, which preserves my ability to continue to defend my computer as well as use Rick's product.
  11. Malwarebytes completely prevented paint.net.4.3.install.anycpu.web from working
  12. Nevermind, I'm thinking of LIbreOffice which puts a small red dot on the diskette file save icon if the file is dirty.
  13. Renaming a layer does not flag the file as dirty (needing a save) v. 4.2.13
  14. First let me say I absolutely adore Paint.net. It's my initial go-to tool for any bitmap editing and sometimes the clean-up tool as well after modifying images in Krita. That said, I do sorely wish that the magic wand tool in Paint.net worked as effectively as it does in Krita. The intended field of color to select in Paint.net grabs practically the entire picture, while Krita expertly grabs the color I selected.
