While this is understandable and noone expects you to actually support other platforms, why not adjust a few lines so the latest version runs with Wine? Apparently, not much is missing for that, only (?) this one issue which currently remains unresolved (which is extraordinary with Wine) https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=45049
