Thanks for the quick reply Ego, I have the function installed in the Effects folder. When I select the area with the lasso, and use the tool, the area is not the same as the background which is usually the ground or the fur of the dog. When the tool ask for the setting (from 0 to 100) I tried both. Still not matched. Can not get the lasso tool to select small areas is there another tool for painting these smaller areas?

Hello, I am new to this program and need a little assistance. After giving up trying to reinstall Photoshop I decided to look for an alternative. I take photos and video for a dog rescue, Labs4rescue.com, and need to learn how to use an erase function on this program. In the Photoshop program I was able to highlight the leashes on the dogs with an eraser function that would replace it with surrounding background imagery. Can I do that with this program and if so how? I also used it to crop and improve the quality of the photo but I am hoping I can figure that part out. Thank you in advance for any assistance.
