Hi !
I used Paint.NET almost every day since a few years now and I never encountered any problem or crash until yesterday. After the last Windows 10 Creators Update was done, I've been unable to use Paint.NET. I have already rebooted multiple times, and also uninstalled and reinstalled the app elsewhere but the problem stands still.
I'm able to open Paint.NET and move the mouse in the window without it crashing. But nearly every thing I click makes the application crash. Strangely, I'm able to interact with some elements of the program without it crashing. I can :
- Navigate between the menus
- Select and open all pop-up windows : Open, Save, Plug-ins etc...
- Pick colors using the Colors Window
But as soon as I either change change the currently select tool to one of the Select (Rectangle, Free, the Magic one, and also Move Selection), click anywhere in the image, the application stops and displays the crashing logs. I am also unable to load an image, as it immediately crashes. Here's the log I got when clicking on the image with the Pencil tool selected :
