  1. And just like that, my problem is solved. Boy am I stupid. Can you explain why that matters? I assumed that if I said "Make it this many inches" it wouldn't say "How much resolution you want?"
  2. Hey guys, sorry to be an idiot here but I am new to this whole photo manipulation thing. I am just trying to make a present for my wife, and I don't know what I am doing wrong, so maybe someone can shed light on the mistake(s) I am making. My end goal is to take four pictures, size them each to approximately 1/4th of a sheet of standard 8.5x11 paper, and place one picture in each corner. So I create a new document. I set the canvas size to 8.5x11. Looks great so far. I open one of the four pictures in a new tab. It's a square, so I know it's not quite the right fit, but that's beside the point. I highlight that picture, select "Resize" and resize to 4.25x4.25 and click "OK". It does some processing, then finishes. The picture looks about the same, but I figure it's just zoomed or something. Now when I copy the image and paste it to my 8.5x11 image, it says "This image is larger than the canvas size". I don't get why the sizing isn't working right. It seems like it should just paste right in there the right size. What am I doing wrong?
