    Problem solved! Thanks for the links. And thanks to HammmIAm for finding and posting the solution: Open regedit search for WindowMetrics set smcaptionheight and smcaptionwidth to -252 (needed the minus sign, in my case anyway)

    The red "close" button on the toolbar (F5) has become ridiculously large. Same problem with all the other floating tools (History, Layers, Colors) (see attached screencap) Only happens with paint.net, all other programs OK. Any suggestions? Win10 Paint.NET 4.0.6
