  1. Lol. Well, that explains why a theoretically perfectly round item didn't look any different after a Ctrl + G! I will file that Ctrl + Shift + G for B & W change. I had found it on the menu, but for something I may be using a bunch, having the short cut memorized is a Good Thing. Thank you!
  2. I will take a look at it shortly. Actually more interested in shiny stuff right now. <grin>
  3. Sorry. The Forums I am familiar with -- dating from CompuServe ASCII-based forums in 1987 up through more modern ones such as CPAPTalk.com don't require going to the archives. And, as you found out, going to the archives wouldn't have been a help in this case anyway. I've been trying to search for tutorials which will help me do what I want/need. It's a little frustrating when, after battling "flood control" on the Forum search, you find something which looks perfect, except that the links don't work.
  4. Your link does NOT go to the search bar at the top of the Forum page. That's what I was using. With keywords of "jewelry" and "Barbieq." And yeah, clicking on a link generally makes it easier to reach the page it's for.
  5. Not sure I follow you -- by starting with gray, and using gray tones rather than yellow, I achieved silver. What does Ctrl + G do? Thanks...
  6. Okay, here's my take on this. I started with gray rather than yellow, since I already knew I wanted silver for the metal. I tinkered with the settings to have gray again later in the tutorial. I did not do the drop shadow. I used an opal from the Opal Tutorial. On that, I used the same sized canvas as for the jewelry tutorial, and when the time came to resize the canvas, I reduced it by 12.5%, which is what the scale on the tutorial called for. I also used Color Balance to shift the tones more towards the blues and greens. Interesting.
  7. Thanks, Limon. And I do have Align Object!
  8. Thank you! I will now go back and attempt to redo the tutorial with the correct tool, because trying to use the wand to get rid of the background was NOT pretty. In addition to the jaggies, I couldn't get the gradient to work correctly for the fade out so it looked like the links were loops.
  9. Talking to myself. Found A Kill Color Plugin, but it is not the same as the one shown in the video, and there isn't another one in the Index....
  10. I dunno how they work it out either, Si Borg! But I have to admire the creativity! I looked at that link, and I will try that tutorial eventually. I'm trying the other one now, because some of the things which are done in it can be turned to (evil chuckle) other uses! Now to go find the Kill Color plug in.....
  11. THanks. I'm attempting that now. It's a pain to have to keep going back and forth between Fullscreen, regular screen, and PDN.
  12. Oh, okay... I knew I was using a number of yours, so that was the first one which went out. Then I had to go grab something I had missed and saw the donation link, and said, "Geeze... why don't I send it now!" And then when I went to print the receipt, I discovered I had already sent you one. Now I just need to make a list of all the people whose plugins I have DL and try to make sure that I get something to each of them as I have the $$$. I strongly believe in supporting deserving people -- and PDN and everyone who supports it is a project truly worthy of being supported. I love this program. I can't learn it fast enough to suit me! There's so much I want to do with it!
  13. I am gonna have so freakin' many plugins it ain't even gonna be funny. I mean, I'm trying to remember to send a donation to the various pack makers (one per week) and I think I managed to send two to Bolt Bait. Which I'm sure he won't mind. But it means I can't send someone else a donation this week.... I am getting so I minimize PND next to a tutorial and sit there checking for if I have the plugins for it, then going and getting THAT pack or THIS pack, closing PND and installing, and then trying to figure out what menu everything is under!
  14. Erm, well, I also don't understand Curves Adjustment yet, either. I can follow directions if a tutorial says "do this," but I don't understand the why of what I'm doing, in order to adapt it to other techniques.
  15. So do I need everything in both these zips to have the Zoom blur deluxe? And does it all go in Effects? Still learning this stuff....
  16. Unfortunately, as of 11/23/2015, the Radial Blur Deluxe and Zoom Blur Deluxe lead to plugins which are not compatible with PND 4.x. Yep. I think I'm gonna find every broken link or link to a non-current plugin in the Forum....
  17. Where is BarbieQ25's jewelry tutorial? It was referenced in another thread, and a search turns up only the message in which it is referenced.
  18. I'll try it... I'd rather have it in written form. I like to watch a video to see what can be done, but I'd rather have written instructions with illustrations for actually DOING.
  19. Framijamit! I'm beginning to think I'm doomed to find every busted link in this Forum. The Youtube video works, but flies by so fast I can't figure out what the technique is. The link to the actual tutorial yield the dred Snap! 404: This Page Is Not Available!
  20. Drat. This link gives me Snap! 404. This page does not exist.
  21. I still do not know how to use the Metallize Plugin, but I achieve a good effect using Welshblue's tutorial here. My efforts here.
  22. Okay, yes, I now have the smudge tool, although I have not yet had a chance to play with it. I think I have installed plugins on a daily basis since I figured out how, courtesy of some of the folks here. Gulp! All those brushes... can they ALL be used with PDN? I could find uses for them.... I have looked at the bat and angel wing tutorial, but had not yet gotten up the courage to try it. Been trying some other tutorials to get the hang of some things. Thanks for the links. I will bookmark this.
