  1. I'm trying to make a profile signature/banner for message boards. I have a 500x150 image as a base that I want to copy and paste a transparent image on top of. I open the transparent image in a new file, then copy and paste, but the background is now white. Not the entire pic, just the 150x150 image selection that is supposed to have a transparent background. How do I avoid this? The image is transparent when open in its own file... Not sure why the background becomes white when I copy and paste to a new file. EDIT: yep... I figured it out... "Add new layer." I'm a bit embarrassed
  2. I copy and pasted a picture off the internet to a 900x900 file in paint.net. I'm trying to resize this picture exactly to 300x300 because I plan on putting a few more pictures on this file. Problem is, as far as I can tell, there is no way to resize selected pixels (aka a copy and pasted picture) other than manually resizing it with your cursor. Is there anyway I can set the exact resolution I want this copy and pasted picture? when I go to image -> resize, it resizes the whole file instead of just the picture, despite the fact that I have the picture selected.
