  1. I'm trying to blur one side of a photo to show motion. The "Effects>Blurs>Motion Blurs" does not seem to do what I want. It blurs the whole rectangular selection, but I want a gradual blur from the right side of the rectangular selection box to the left. My image is of a caboose at the end of a train. I want the trailing end of the caboose to gradually blur as if it was moving down the tracks. Is it possible to do a "gradual blur"? Thanks - David
  2. Thanks Rick (and null54). I thought it was an operational problem. That's why I posted where I did 😊.
  3. For about 10-14 days I have not been able to update paint.net. I'm currently using Version 4.2.8. Clicking on "Settings>>Updates>>Check Now>>Install" starts the download but then I get the following two line error message: There was an error while checking for updates There was an error decompressing the download I searched the forum but I didn't find any posts related to this. Makes me wonder if it is only my computer. I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium. Thanks - David
  4. When I rotate an image, such as an 8"x10" image, the new image will have the edges cut off. When I rotate am image, I expect the X and Y dimensions to increase to accommodate the whole rotated image. How can I get the program to NOT chop the edges off? I'm using Version 4.2.8 Thanks - David
  5. Oceana - That's what I do, but it takes a lot of trial and error. I usually have 20-30 separate bmp files I have to adjust. I'll enter 1.00, then I'll select the up-arrow then the down-arrow to view the result (result is not instantaneous). If the result is not good enough, I'll enter 0.75 (up and down arrows again). Then 0.60 (up and down arrows again). Then 0.65 (up and down again). Maybe I'll enter 0.60 again, or I might try 0.63 (up and down again). I was hoping there was a trick like highlighting one of the digit places and selecting the up or down arrow to increase or decrease the highlighted digit. Or maybe there was a hidden setting in the preferences somewhere.
  6. Greetings: I use rotate (Layers>Rotate / Zoom) quite a bit and almost always need fine-grain rotation. I need to make text (within a bmp image) as close to horizontal as possible. There are up/down arrow next to the values that increase or decrease the values. The values increase or decrease by 1.00 . Is there a way to select which number place (such as the whole number, tenths, or hundredths ) will increase or decrease by 1 ? Thanks - David
