  1. Congratulations one and all. Brilliant images. Mr. Roosevelt would be proud
  2. Teddy made with furblur - balloons stock image with paint.net treatment
  3. Congratulations to everybody. Winners or not. Each one could grace a card shop
  4. Thanks for that MJW. I've finally understood Texture Shader. Much more effective than when I've been using blend modes to put textures on things.
  5. Firstly, sad to see you go Pixey - I never had a chance to get to know you or reply to your message. I for one will miss the inspiration you've given here. Secondly, if an image is edited does the entrant have to give a reason as to what changes have been made ?
  6. Edited to include the border, the beads and to change the font and text
  7. Stunning. On my to do list too This combined with welshblue's chain link tutorial could be very realistic jewellery ?
  8. Congratulations Ishi - a lovely interpretation of the filipino flag. Personally when I chose the theme it was selfishly done to how to get a French tribute flag in there. I didn't find racerx's remark offensive as to the art of flags/ interpretations on here, but possibly to the you should vote this way mindset. Another type of flag which started out differently springs to mind for that
  9. Background Union Jack stock but tweaked using PDNing's creased fabric texture
  10. Totally shocked. Some much better ones in my eyes. Thank you A bit of a cheat entry - without the tutorials and plugins I would still be drawing gradients. Congratulations to everyone
  11. Marilynx. There is a step by step tutorial on here (I was following it yesterday. I really don't know how these guys work these things out) http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/26665-chrome-effect-chain-links/page-1 RE the video. If only iron age man could see what was to come
  12. OK fourth gallery and my favourite one changes each time I visit them. Your portraits are brilliant - shading/ lighting etc are spot on. Your festive images are great too - in fact storybook great. The way yourself, HELEN, yellowman and welshblue use a free programme so very differently shows the versatility of paint.net. And why I've binned the Gimp
  13. Having looked around a few galleries it's such an inspiration to see so many styles and yours is very unique. Crisp, clean and extremely glossy. So far I've only commented on 3 with this one and I can't pick a favourite because each style is varied and so superbly executed
  14. Used tutorials by yellowman (PDNing on youtube ?) and welshblue free upload image
  15. Says a lot when reputation points are given by others for sniping. I'll say this so it's idiot proof - I go out of my way to help people often - but not on here because I don't know how to.Yet. Rudeness is not a becoming trait in anyone. I was just making an observation that there is no need to be disparaging to someone who obviously doesn't 'get it'. I guess biting newbies here is not against the rules if it's done by a longer serving member
  16. That seems to sum up what I was alluding to. I offer no help because I signed up here to check out paint.net after a friend pointed me here. He told me to check out a couple of members who are no longer active, but especially their tutorials; which show the way. He also warned me to ignore the sometime biters who can surface As a new member/user I must admit to being impressed by the software if not some attitudes. Maybe just buying the mastering paint.net book will be more beneficial for new users
  17. Things like this sort of put new members/users from asking questions. Masked insult but not by much. I was always brought up to believe that something is only easy if you know the answer/that nobody knows everything. And I thought the sotw discussion was off putting:
  18. Gimp or paint.net?

  19. Stunning stunning works. Really showing the power of a free software in the right hands. Yourself and welshblue are inspirations to me. Both with such attention to detail, lighting, perspective and the most glorious of concepts/ ideas. I wish you were both around to help with the transition from the Gimp kudos
